Tanjiro let a scream rip through his lungs as the crisp air parched his throat, rain soaking his body as his aching legs begged for rest. He never stopped, desperately trying to rid himself of the voices that circulated his mind and the sound of nearby footsteps behind him.

Run!

Tanjiro couldn't run anymore.

His lightening fast sprint slowed dramatically when his legs felt like they were teathered to heavy blocks of lead as it agonised him to take each step.

He stumbled around the trees with a little jog, pushing his now cold body to the very limit as he tripped on a upstanding root.

He fell into a prickly underbrush filled with ivy and stinging nettles; making him cry out into the forest as the plants tore and aggravated his skin.

Keep going Tanjiro.

I'll come to save you...

The boy pushed himself off the floor with a great heave, panting heavily as he urged himself on; scared of the footsteps that he could feel were approaching him.

You need to run!

Get up!

So Tanjiro ran again.

Although, he was out of steam. Tanjiro looked at his slightly bloody hand with teary eyes and took some painful steps forward, watching as his claws retreated.

Before he could even make out the movement, Tanjiro had been tackled to the ground in a wet heap; a flash of bright orange making Tanjiro panic once more.

Rengoku's come to kill you!

Taniiro attempted to scream before a large hand was placed around his mouth as Rengoku wrapped his free arm around the boy's torso. Silently dragging him behind a large oak and not daring to make a noise.

"Shhh... your safe" the pillar whispered, using most his strength in order to keep Tanjiro still as they hid behind a tree.

he peaked his head around the corner when he felt the presence of an extremely powerful demon.

The upper moon one stalked the forest right become them, sent by Muzan himself to retrieve the boy.

Rengoku wasn't going to let that happen.

All six eyes of the demon profoundly scanned the woodland before he walked away dejectedly, searching some place else for Tanjiro.

Rengoku let out a deep breath once the demon had moved on and looked down at the poor boy struggling in his grip "I'm sorry Tanjiro forgive me but I can't have you making any noise" he whispered before delivering a quick chop to Tanjiro's pressure point as he fell limp in his arms.
