We finally arrive at our destination and I'm shocked to see everyone else that was on my bus, get on different ones almost immediately.
They must not be staying here. Should I go too?
"Miss?"
The bus driver called out to me, and I turned to face them.
"Yes?"
"If you're gonna get on another bus you should hurry and buy your ticket, the ones after these are gonna take a while."
I'm a little confused.
"Isn't this a town?"
They chuckle and nod.
"It is a town, but not many live here and the buses out of town barely come around."
I nod and smile.
"Well thank you for your advice, but I think I'll take a look around."
"Alrighty, have a good day miss."
"You too."
I make sure I have all my stuff then leave the significantly smaller bus station.
If not many people come here than maybe it'll take long for them to find me. Vie will think I've gone to a bigger city where it's easy for people to disappear.
Hopefully Tod will have the same thoughts as her.
Looking at my surroundings I notice I'll have to walk further than expected in order to reach the town, that's fun.
With a sigh and kicking a few rocks up from the ground, I start towards the town. I can see buildings in the distance. What type of place has their bus station this far out?
I'm not sure exactly where I am, definitely Anytown, USA, in the middle of nowhere. Probably Ohio or Utah.
Just seeing the difference between the city I was in, to this place, is weird.
I breathe in the crisp morning air and enjoy the sounds of nature, this feels like the time Vie and I used to go on morning walks in Greece as it was being built.
Except I'm not in Greece, and I'm not with Vie.
It's strange being away from her. She's all I've ever known. But for all her beauty and kindness, she can turn into such a harsh cruel being.
She's lied and kept the truth from me for so long, manipulating and using her magic on me. I can't say I'd never go back though.
She was like a drug, I was addicted to her, and now I'm trying to go cold turkey. This will be difficult.
After around an hour and a half, judging from the sun, I finally reach the town. It's everything I expected it to be.
Run down.
Though, it's a little bigger than I thought it was going to be.
I pass a coffee shop, some buildings and houses, some people who give me strange stares, a fast food place, and a diner before I finally find a motel.
Of course this forsaken place doesn't have a hotel.
I walk into the motel to the front desk, greeting the clerk.
"What room would you like?"
I think for a moment.
"What's the best room here?"
The clerk has a bored expression on their face and shrugs.
"The honeymoon suite, next best thing is 205, we have full vacancy so it's your pick of rooms."
