The hammer in my hands trembled as I swung it with all my might in a sharp downward arc toward the battered music box. A earth shattering metallic bang filled my ears as I was thrown back.

I couldn't move for a moment and I waited for my ears to stop ringing. My head felt fuzzy but I forced my eyes to open. I heard a soft whimper and suddenly I remembered just what kind of situation I was in right now. I scrambled to my feet looking around, and in the hazy purple pink light I saw her.

No longer twisted and broken, Six lay on the cracked stone unmoving. I rushed to her side falling to my knees beside her. I gently took her in my arms putting my head to her chest trying to find a heartbeat. Hearing the faint *thump thump thump* of her heart my own felts a little lighter.

"Six...hey...hey wake up" I say gentle as possible. Her messy hair no longer obscures her eyes and when she gasps for air they shoot open revealing the deepest brown eyes iv ever seen.

Hoping to see relief in this beautiful eyes I was slightly shocked when she pushed me away from her and scrambled to her feet.

"Wh-.."

My words were cut short when she looked at me. Her face unreadable yet my gut told me she wasn't too happy. Before I could say anything else the ground shook. A deep gutteral growl filled the air around us and we shared a look before taking off running. I had no clue were I was going but Six seemed to had no problem navigating so I followed her.

I stumbled over one of the many falling stones and slabs of broken wood. Scraping my hands and knees I crawled along till I regained my footing sprinting to catch up with Six. I risked a glance behind me and even to this day I wish I hadn't. Consuming the ground behind me was a gigantic pulsating mass of flesh and eyes.

I found that to be significant motivation and pumped my small legs faster. Ahead of me Six runs and jumps headed for a doorway at the end if the crumbling hall. It seemed like we've ran for an eternity by the time I jump over a massive crack in the ground and cleared the doorway. A long path of stone stood in front of me. At the end was a glitching screen that would be our escape. I continued running, the ever present horror following close behind. The cold stone below me begin to crumble. I didn't know how much longer I could run. I saw Six reach the door and look back. I wasn't sure if I had the strength to reach her but found that would be the least of my problems as my feet found air.

I felt gravity take hold and opened my mouth to scream when I felt a hand grab mine catching me. I looked up through the haze and dust, my eyes meeting my yellow coated companion.

"Great catch Six" I said my voice shaking. But she didn't say anything...she didn't pull me up...she just looked at me.

"S...Six...hey..pull me up"

I felt my arm beginning to shake from the strain of holding on.

"Six what are you doing pull me up!" I said more forcefully. That seemed to catch her attention and to my relief she pulled my up to the ledge. I scrambled up the rest of the way and got to my feet. I was about to thank her only to find she was already headed towards the glitching screen.

I felt a prick in my heart. What was that about?...She looked like she was going to let go! She wouldn't do that though...would she? Shaking that horrible thought away I followed her. We reached the screen and I placed my hand against it. I looked back reaching for her and. She flinched away and one again my heart pricked. But she took finally took my hand and I pushed through the screen.

I felt my body shake as the colors around me warped and twisted. The sound of static and noise from a million channels filled my ears and I gripped Sixes hand tighter. Finally it was over and I felt my body hit the ground on the other side. I lay there unmoving waiting for the pain to stop. The soft sound of rain and feeling of the cold breeze felt soothing on my feverish skin. I heard Six shuffle next to me and I sat up.

I watched her for a moment. She stood, brushing herself off and looking out the hole in the wall of the dilapidated building we were in. I wondered why she didn't even acknowledge me. She was hard to read on a good day but now? It was like she was a different person. I stood up wincing and made my way to her side.

"Hey thanks for catching me.." I say gentle as I can. Her hood is pulled over her hair once again and her face is hidden in shadow. All I see is her mouth set in a unreadable line.

"What's wrong? Six we escaped! We're going to be ok now!" I smiled at her but she didn't smile back.

"What happened to you...I'm sorry..but it's ok I'm here now and Im not leaving you again" I put my hand on her shoulder and she stepped away. Pulling her hood back she pushed her hair from her eyes and glared at me. My gut clenched and she spoke for the first time since she was taken from me.

"Don't" She clenched her fists

"Leave me alone"

Those words echoed seeming so much louder than they really were.

"Six.."

" Leave me alone... Or I will hurt you"
