You were walking down the street when you saw the church. Everyone told you that it was old and run down, but that wasn't how you saw it. It was very much kept up, and beautiful. You wanted to walk in, but you were sure that if everybody but you thought it was abandoned, that may be a bad idea. You turned around and saw a very attractive man. He appeared to be walking towards the church, but ignoring you.
"Excuse me," you called after him. He turned around, startled, though you couldn't say why. He had just walked right past you. Surely he saw you.
"Yes?" He said after taking a moment to assure himself that you were speaking to him.
"What's in that church?" you asked, pointing.
"You- you can see it?" he stammered out.
"Obviously." Was this man okay in the head? Then again, I couldn't talk, I supposed. Everyone but me and apparently this man saw the church as run down and abandoned. Am I okay in the head?
"I think we should talk inside." I followed him in where he lead me to a small woman who looked very motherly. This place was actually full of people, and it was full of equipment. I got the feeling this wasn't an actual church.
"Charlotte," the man said to the woman.
"Yes, Gideon?" She looked up from what she was doing and saw me. "Who's this?"
"A mundane," the man, Gideon, said. Mundane? Was that an insult?
"Yes, Gideon, I see that. Why is she here is what I'm asking."
"She has the Sight." What is the sight? I had never been more confused.
Charlotte's eyebrows shot up. The word clearly had meaning to her.
"Explain it to her. The poor girl looks so confused."
"Thank you ma'am," I said, gratefully.
She smiled. "Call me Charlotte, please." I nodded, smiling back.
Gideon lead me to a room full of weapons and explained everything. All the times in my life I had thought I was going crazy because of the things I saw, it was just because most mundanes, as he called them, couldn't see the things that I could. I trusted him, inexplicably.
After that, we sat getting to know each other. I learned that if I wanted to, I could begin training to become a Shadowhunter, like him. I decided i would think about it, because the offer was intriguing.
"Has anyone ever told you how pretty you are?" He suddenly asked out of the blue.
"What?" Was my intelligent answer.
"You're really pretty. I just thought I'd let you know."
I grinned, slowly. "You know, you're not so bad yourself, Gideon Lightwood."
