A/n: Your best friend's name is Ada. She's a warlock. Fight me, bitches.

It was back in the steampunk era. Your corset probably would have been uncomfortable if you needed to breathe, but fortunately, you did not.

Your dear friend Ada decided that she wanted you to meet one of her friends in London. You recognized the name. Magnus Bane. It was hard not to know that name. He was one of the most powerful warlocks in the world. You had just never met him.

Here were the things Ada had told you about Mr. Bane: He was extremely glamorous. He knew fashion inside and out, although he sometimes did peculiar things with it. He was single. She was always trying to "help" you with your single life. You didn't really think you needed it, as you weren't really interested in the whole proposition of love, but she didn't seem to see that. But she was your friend, and you didn't want to disappoint her, so here you were, in rainy London, riding in a carriage on your way to Mr. Bane's estate. The coachman let you know that you were there, and stepped down to help you out.

As he drove away, you looked up to the home, and you had to admit, you were impressed, even though you probably shouldn't have been surprised. He was powerful. And when you're powerful in the Shadow World, you're rich. You can afford these kinds of things.

Now, you weren't poor. But you also weren't rich either. Thoroughly middle class. Ada had a bit more money than you, but not by much. So it seemed this Magnus Bane wasn't too snobby. You just hoped that he wouldn't throw you out for who knows what reason.

I started to knock on the door, but it seemed that he had workers who knew I was coming.

The male looked at me. He took in my dress and seemed to think I was good enough.

"Are you here to see Mr. Bane?"

"Yes, I am." The man and woman looked at each other.

"Are you Miss Ada?"

"No. No, I'm Y/n. She's my dearest friend. She invited me here."

The woman looked at the man.

"I will let Magnus know he has company." She walked away to let him know. I just kind of stood there in awkward silence until the female returned.

She smiled at me. I decided I liked her, because she had a very kind smile.

"He says you may come in, Miss Y/n."

When I walked into the living room, I was greeted by a peculiar sight. The only person that this man could be would be Magnus. He was startlingly attractive, though Ada was not exaggerating when she said he had strange fashion sense. He was hidden behind a couch and he popped up when he heard you come in.

"No one told me that I had gorgeous company coming today!"

I giggled. "Ada didn't let you know?"

He gave me a look of playful, slightly flirtatious indignance. "She most certainly did not."

I smiled back, letting him know that I accepted his flirtations.

I've been grounded. Still am. I snuck my computer to satisfy my extremely small, but entirely devoted fan base.

I'll update again when I can.
