AMALIA
The summer weather of Sicily is the best. I absolutely love this weather, it makes my skin warm and cozy. I am currently walking with Rebecca along the beach, for a fresh air. We have been talking for the past week about our lives and tried to get past of what happened. I know I said I would never forgive her, but truth be told, I have missed her. I will always love my sister no matter what.
"Aren't you going to talk to him?" She asks, referring to Sandro. I had told her about him and about everything that happened. I had no one else to talk to and she was there for me and still is.
"No, I could never." I reply, weakly. As much as I want to pick up my phone and call him, I know I couldn't and shouldn't. The last thing I need is him coming to my house with Lily and suddenly an attack happens. I don't want to put him or Lily in danger, especially when I still am not sure if someone is after me or not. There probably is.
"Rebecca...I have to tell you something." I start. One thing I didn't mention the past week when we were talking was how our parents died. I couldn't tell her back then, but I guess I am ready now. She has the right to know.
"What?" She asks, confused.
"There is something I haven't told you, yet—about our parents." I say, making her frown. "They were murdered, but I haven't told you who killed then." I sigh. "It was Uncle Andre and his kids."
"What?!"
Rebecca was a year younger than me, which makes her 14 when our parents died. When I was with my ex, Rebecca was with me too, until I moved to London for a while.
"I can't believe it." She swallows hard. "Amalia, I have to tell you something." She nervously said.
"What is it?"
"I think Gino knew your location because of me."
"You gave it to him?!"
"I didn't know he wanted to kill you." A tear escapes her eye.
"It's fine. It's over now." I say and continue walking.

Rebecca and I walked back home. It was days like this that I hate. Days where I don't have anything to do. I know I have a job, but when you are the boss, you can do whatever you want. I tried to drown myself with work, but it didn't work out. The thought of Alessandro are not leaving my mind. I keep wondering what he's doing.
A phone ring pull me out of my thoughts. I look on the screen to find an unknown number. This better not be a killer or something.
"Hello?" I say once I pick up. No one talks on the other line. "Hello?" I say again.
"Nanny Amalia?" Lily's cute voice says.
"Lily? Is that you?" I ask. How did she get my number? Or more importantly, from what phone is she calling from.
"It's me." She says. "Why did you leave me?" Her voice cracks making my heart clench.
The thing is, my lawyer finally won the case against Lily's mother m, Amanda. Lily was in Alessandro's custody now. If it wasn't like that, I would have left her. I would have done anything to get Alessandro the custody. But again, I know what she meant.
"Baby..." I didn't know what to say.
"I miss you. Come, please." She pleads. Tears threatened to fall, but I control them.
"Is your dad around?" I ask, ignoring her previous statement.
"No. He is sleeping—I am sitting with a nanny that I hate. She is not you and not good." She says.
