AMALIA
"Are you sure it's the right way?" I ask, as I walk carefully over the rocks. Alessandro and I have been walking for hours in this forest, and haven't been lucky to finding the main town. The sun is almost setting down.
"Not sure, but I feel we are close to the main street." He replies hesitantly, as I groan in pain and sadness. I just want to get to Florence.
As we walk, we heard few growls here and there, and that made me stick close to Alessandro, holding his arm for safety. I am just glad that I am not alone here and I have Alessandro because if he wasn't here, I am sure I would be dead a long time ago. We passed the beautiful dark green tress as we walked, and saw a bunch of different kinds of birds resting on the branches. They looked beautiful.
After few more hours of walking, we finally reached the main road. It was dark now, but thankfully, someone agreed to take us to Capri's train station. We didn't want to go to the airport because we didn't want to draw attention. It is clear now that I am not safe and I am on the run. I am concerned with Annie and if she's safe. That's why I need to reach Florence to ask Demetrio for his help and know more about Gino.
We booked a train ticket and the train will leave in two hours. Luckily, it is only four and half hours to reach Florence by train. I just hope we don't encounter any more men.
As we wait, Alessandro bought some bagels for us to eat. I love bagels, a lot. It reminds me of old time with my parents when we used to go to the park and play there. I miss those old gold days.
"Are you okay?" Alessandro asks, sitting beside me on the bench, and handing me the bagel.
"I am. I am just concerned with Annie. What if they did something to her?" I ask nervously.
"Don't worry. I am sure she's okay. Besides, there are a lot of bodyguards guarding the house." He assures me. I feel better when he said that. I am sure she's okay.
"I hope so." I sighed.
In two hours, the train arrived and they started calling for everyone to go on board. We made our way to our flat number that was written on our ticket, and hopped into the train. We took our seats; which were beside each other, and made sure to not look suspicious. We glanced around a bit, making sure no ones was watching or spying on us.
I took Alessandro's hand in mine, and never felt more safe. He is my safe place. I closed my eyes, knowing that I am safe with Alessandro, as darkness engulfed me.

We gave the taxi driver Demetrio's address and sped off. We arrived to Florence few minutes ago safely. Thank god. We didn't see anyone else trying to kill us, yet. Alessandro stayed beside me the whole time and never once left me alone. Even when he went to buy something to eat, he took me with him. He couldn't leave me alone, and honestly, I would not leave him too.
After half an hour, we have arrived to Demetrio's house. I remember the last time I came here, and that was when I dumped Gino. I can't help but feel a little bit if guilt that I was the reason my cousin is dead, but then again, he wasn't the Gino I knew. He hid a lot of secrets that I have yet to discover.
"Thank you." I thank the taxi driver, as Alessandro hand him some money. I didn't have anything with me. No cell phone or money. I thank god Alessandro had some in his pockets.
I knock on the door, waiting impatiently for someone to open it. After few seconds, the door opened.
"Fuck! Where have you been?" Demetrio yells, relief covered his face once he saw us.
"We'll explain, but let us come in first." I reply in a hurry. We enter the house and make our way to the familiar living room. As soon as I step my foot into the living room, I hear familiar voices.
Annie?
"Annie?" I voice my thoughts, gaining her attention.
"Oh my god! Thank god you are okay!" She replies, hugging my tightly. "Have you got any idea how much worried I was?"
"What happened? Why ate you here?"
"They attacked the house, I had to leave." She replies sadly.
"Oh god, are you okay?" I ask, grabbing both of her shoulders.
"I am now that you are. What happened?"
Alessandro and I sat down and explained everything that had happened. From the departure till now. They were shocked to hear what happened, but thankful that nothing happened to us.
"I can't believe that happened." Demetrio grunts. "You are in danger, now."
"I know..." I sigh. I glance at Demetrio, signaling that we should talk alone. He nods and motions for me to follow him. I left Alessandro with Leila and Annie, and followed Demetrio to his office. Once we reached, he opens the door and lets me in.
"We have to talk about Gino. What happened?" I asks, in a demanding voice.
He sighs and replies, "if only I knew. I was i interrogating him and when I left, he was still chained to the table. I am not sure, but I guess he wanted to go to the bathroom because after few minutes, I heard a gun shot in the basement. When I went back there, I saw the bodyguard's body on the floor. Gino was nowhere to be seen. I later concluded that there was a spy between us who helped him out. However, just an hour later, we heard the new of his death. The police claimed that it was a suicide, but I do not think so." He explains.
"Do you think the people he worked for killed him? Maybe they were afraid he would say something." I ask.
"There's a 90% chance of that." He nods, approvingly.
I was about to say something else, but Leila's screams were heard, making us jolt up and run towards the living room. When we arrived, the scene I saw before me broke my heart.
There was Annie on the floor unconscious. Her mouth was covered with white foam.
"What happened?" I ask, running towards my mother.
"She just collapsed." Leila replies.
"Call the doctor!" I yell.
