17. Lily

AMALIA

A week had passed since Annie death, and since then, we have stayed with the González's. My home was not safe and I couldn't go back there. I received few emails from the circle, but I didn't reply to any. I knew they were in on whatever happened to me. They were after me and I couldn't go back there. Sicily was now a very dangerous place for me.

"Have you talked to Lily?" I ask, sitting beside Alessandro.

"Yes, I just talked to her. She says hi." He replies with a smile.

"Didn't she want a kiss?" I shyly ask. I wanted him to kiss my neck so bad.

"If you want me to kiss you so bad, all you gotta do is ask, baby." He smirks once he saw the blush on my cheeks. He leaned in and kissed my neck, a slow, burning kiss. It felt so good.

"By the way, I have asked Amanda to come to Florence and bring Lily. I want to keep her beside me."

"Yes, of course. No problem." I reply happily. I was so excited to see that cutie again.

Even though, I am not in the nicest mindset right now, but I could get better with Lily around. I just need a fresh air and someone to take my mind off Annie. I still cannot believe that she's gone and worse, that she didn't tell me about her disease. I didn't even get to say goodbye. I am sure she did that for a reason.

And then again, my mind drifts to what she had been telling me for years, to talk to my sister again. She clearly knew that she was dying and wanted to see me with my sister again before she does, and I didn't grant her her wish. I was so selfish, but I didn't even know.

That's not an excuse too...

Suddenly, a phone rings. Alessandro's

"Yes, Amanda, did you arrive?" Alessandro says, waiting for her reply. Suddenly, his face turns hard and his eyes widen.

"WHERE ARE YOU?" He yells through the phone. He nods involuntarily and hangs up.

"What happened?" Demetrio and I ask at the same time. Demetrio had just walked into the room.

"Lily...they took Lily." He says, shocking us.

My heart started beating fast, the oxygen was leaving my body, and I couldn't think straight. Is that what being afraid is? You get frozen in your place and can't move at all? While your heart keep bumping onto your chest rapidly, as if it wants to get out.

Lily...they took her because of me.

Alessandro grabbed his car keys without saying another word and left the house. I ran after him, wanting to go with him, but I couldn't keep up with him. He was too fast.

"Alessandro!" I yell after him.

"Amalia, get in the car!" Demetrio calls, grabbing my attention. I walked to his car and hopped in. He turned the engine on and sped after Alessandro.

Sandro was going to do something reckless and ai couldn't leave him alone, especially when it is not his mess but mine. I got him into this...it is my fault that Lily has been kidnapped.

I hope she's okay...

Alessandro's car stopped and we did too. We hopped out and walked after him. Amanda was standing by the road, crying her eyes out. This is the first time I see her in this position. Even when her daughter was lost few months ago when I found her, she didn't cry like that.

"Who took her!" Alessandro yells.

"Some men! They said that you are going to pay the price because of HER!" She cries and points at me.
