20. Good-bye

AMALIA

The sound of my spit echoed in the room. My mouth was full of my own blood, so I had to spit it out. He had been punching me for few minutes that I eventually broke out laughing. I kept on laughing and he kept on punching, thinking that I'll give in and tell him to stop. I'd never do that. He mustn't know me well if he thought that I'll give in.

Another one.

I laugh out loud.

"Why are you laughing!" He yells, getting extremely frustrated. He doesn't like to lose and he clearly loves to see people in pain. It's just happens that I am one of the people who doesn't show that I am in pain. Thank goodness, I was able to bring the old Amalia back. It's like the vampire switch that they do to turn off their humanity, but in my case, I turn . . . Oh it's the same thing.

I don't answer him and he gets more furious. "I said, answer me!" He yells, blessing me with another slap. This time, I laugh hard.

A look of disbelief passes through his face as he turns around and leaves the room. One thing I learned is that when you don't give your kidnapper the reaction they want, they'll leave you alone.

Once he left, I quickly unmasked my emotions, as I groan in pain. It hurt like hell and it was all in the face. I spit more blood as they keep on coming in.

This is the first time I don't see something coming. Hell, it never really crossed my mind that he'll kidnap Lily ir that he is my cousin. Why didn't I think of that? I was too blinded by love. That's the only thing I could come up with. It didn't only endanger me, but also Alessandro and his daughter. I don't know what would I have done if something bad happened to Lily. I would have probably killed myself. I could never look Alessandro in the eye if something happened to her. That's why ai need him to leave. Leave far away with his daughter. He gains no good when he is around me. I am a messed up spoiled rich manipulating bitch. I do him no good.

ALESSANDRO

Fuck, yes.

We just got information about Cinintio and found that his father is still alive. He is hiding somewhere Italy and we just have to find out where. The only thing I came up with is to kidnap his father, make him call his son for a meeting with him and that he should bring Amalia to speak with her since they are related, and then when he comes, we kill them both.

"But they are going to know if Andre was kidnapped." Mia argues, not liking my idea. Andre Valentino is Gino's and Franco/Cintinio's father.

"But we could kill everyone before they make a phone call." I argue back.

"What if Franco called them and they didn't answer? Surely he'll know."

"Then we make Andre call him right after w take him."

"And what should he tell him? What if Andre didn't even have a phone or something."

"Mia, you are making it so complicated." Demetrio says. "We could take one of the guard's phones." He adds.

"Yeah." I agree with him.

"Fine." She huffs, "but we need to find him first." She says, pacing back and forth.

I am about to say something when River cut me off by barging into the room. "That won't be necessary, I found him - he is staying in a small house North of Sicily in a city called Cefalù."

"What the fuck is he doing there?" I ask, confusedly.

"My guess is chilling. There are a lot of beaches there." Mia guesses.
