"Oh, I almost forgot, we got the halters you asked for," I said,
"Oh good" she smiled cheerfully "Now, take these halters and choose the animal that you wish to lead out first"
"Okay," I replied, Pony only shrugged.
"Alright then," Mrs. Miller said cheerfully, "Take your pick"
"I'll take on James Brownie" I volunteered,
"Okay, and..." she stopped short.
"I-I'll take on the two bigger donkeys if Alex wouldn't mind taking on the little one" Pony replied, glancing over at me.
"Uh-sure" I replied coolly.
"Okay, that settles it then" she exclaimed happily.
"Yes," I replied, walking around; inching closer to the trailer as Pony helped me open the trailer door.
I thanked him, walking slowly towards the chocolate-coated horse. Talking sweetly, I eased him into the halter, clipping the lead rope on; I walked him out slowly.
"Man Alex, you're a natural" Pony said wide-eyed.
"Thank you" I acknowledged, smiling a bit. I watched with curiosity as the young male struggled to get his share of the work under control.
"Need help?" I offered, coming over to him after making sure James Brownie was convertible in a stall.
"No, I'm good" he reassured me; just then the donkey he was working with bit him,
"Owe!" He said gruffly, "Why you little---" he started to curse.
