(Short Chapter from where the last left off! But don't worry hehe)

It was silent as they arrived back to the Lan pavilion.

After Xia was bandaged up, Xichen allowed for Xia to stay at Wei Wuxian's side while he rested. Jiang Cheng was worried about both Xia and Wei Wuxian but only asked if Xichen would give him updates on their injuries.

Sitting on the edge of his bed, she watched solemnly as his chest rises and falls. The aura was gone and his veins were back to normal, which made her relax a bit.

'Wei Wuxian...'

She takes his pale hand in her own and cradles it close with teary eyes.

"I-It hurts so much to see you like this... seeing you in pain before my eyes."

She suddenly feels his fingers curl around her own making her eyes widen.

His eyes slowly open to gaze up into her eyes. He smiles slightly.

"A-A'Xia ...a-are you gonna use my hand to wipe your nose?"

Xia pouts and sniffs.

"T-that's disgusting. O-only you would joke like this while you're injured ,Wei Wuxian."

He chuckles lightly, raising up to look at her reassuringly.

"I'm alright , just exhausted from running is all. I'll be up and energetic tomorrow."

Xia's lips become a flat line and her eyes fall on his hand.

"That aura ....I didn't want to interrogate you...but it began at emerald lake, didn't it?"

Wei Wuxian visibly tenses, memories of when he was at the bottom of the lake that was full of resentment energy swarmed in his mind.

"How...how did you know?"

Xia bites her lip.

Okay Xia, you can't tell him about him being a BL character because then you'll have to explains what BL is , though Wei Wuxian is a big boy who reads porn so it wouldn't be so bad- but I sure as hell can't explain how I know a lil too much about his future....well up until season 3...I don't even know who the actual mastermind is yet! (A:N She stopped at the end of season 2, so she doesn't know anything about the Yi City arc and beyond)

"I-I noticed you changed from when I last saw you...as if something was plaguing your thoughts.." She managed to say, and hoped it sounded believable.

Wei Wuxian turned his head away to look out at the moon.

"I'm not sure what happened to me...but the resentment aura was so strong and easily took over my body... I was lucky that it stopped when it did ...but I'm afraid.." he looks down at his hands, "-that if it happens again...I may not be able to stop myself so quickly."

Xia visibly tensed up, guilt rising within her.

It was such a terrible thing to keep things away from someone as kind as Wei Wuxian. She wanted to change his future and help others along the way...but exactly how?

How exactly could she prevent the Wen Clan from slaughtering most of the Jiang Clan, not to mention Jiang Cheng's core..

I can't bear to see them in pain...Wei Wuxian, Jiang Cheng, Yanli....Lan Wangji...

The only thing I can do is try to stop the Wen Clan...
