The next two days Xia was distracted from while working.

If this is true...that Im really somehow connected to Wen Ruyi..then that means that Li Mu was right! But just because I had a vision about some woman...doesnt mean that she's Ruyi's mother...and it also doesnt mean she isn't. Ugh this wasnt what I expected to find out!

HA!SEE!I was right! You are a Wen brat! I sensed it as soon as my soul touched yours in the Xuwanwu cave.

'Ew, shutup Li Mu! I am not in the mood for your "I told you so" crap. Yes so maybe I am a Wen ...but how could I possibly be a Wen when I came from a whole nother universe!?  She pauses  "Unless...unless I am originally from here...which would mean my very existence in what I thought was my original world is due to reincarnation...I mean, all I know is that I was raised by an old woman who said she found me abandoned in a box outside her apartment .That would just mean that my  parents abandoned me...'

Well what if in this universe, your parents didnt abandon you, but you died really young, and were reincarnated into one where your birth parents did abandon you?

Xia's frowns.
'If that's true...damn...I really cant win in any universe. But I guess the only way to really find out is if I go and find Wen Royi ...but how the hell am I going to get into the main palace...'

Are you dumb? Use that woman or your boyfriend to get you in!

'Stop calling me dumb-and BOYFRIEND!? Wen Ning isn't my boyfriend!'  Despite her protest, her face was bright red. 'And Wen Qing would just be suspicious of me. I'll find another way to get in.'

Two of the maids , one thin and the other chubby were looking at her with annoyance, whispering to each other.
"That crazy wench is always talking to herself."

"But she manages to get her work done quickly and praised by the head maid Daiyu."

"I wish she was executed like the rumors said she'd be. Still noone know exactly where she's from."

"I wonder if its true that she was the former lover of Wen Chao. That's why miss Jiao Jiao hates her so much."

"Im not sure...there's a rumor she likes girls. Someone saw her with Wen Qing."

"A-Are you serious?!"

Xia's eye twitches as she listens to the girl whispering not so softly about her.
'What the actual hell'?'

She stands up, turning around and giving them an annoyed look.
"If you bitches are gonna talk about me, at least wait til Im gone, yeah?"

They both look embarrassed at being heard but then the thinner one scoffs and scrunches her nose.
"We're just saying what everyone is thinking. So what's the truth?"

The other squints.
" Are you really the secret lover of Wen Chao?"

"Y-you," Xia scoffs."I am NOT in any way involved with that ugly bastard! Nor am I secretly with Wen Qing!"

The two maids didnt seem convinced.
"Liar! Why else would you be banished here?"

Before she could argue back, suddenly the head maid came.
"Alright, everyone stop what youre doing."

All of the maids of the palace laundry room stopped what they were doing to look at her as she began to speak again.

"I need a maid to volunteer to work in the main palace. Lady Wen Royi needs another maid."

Everyone around Xia seemed to freeze. Xia didnt realize she was the only one with her eyes up until the Head Maid Daiyu called her name.

"Xia. How nice of you to volunteer."
Xia blinks.

"Eh? Um... y-yes of course."

She walks over to Daiyu and the older woman takes her to the main palace. She cant help but think how fortunate it was for her to get the opportunity to work for the woman she wanted to meet, but she was also nervous for what was to come.

Xia looks around Lady Wen Royis palace in awe. The woman seemed to be a big fan of the color green rather than the wen clans official colors. Her home was also more lively than the other parts of the inner palace she had seen, with beds of red flowers and lights around every walkway,  and she had a long bridge above a koi pond that seperated her from the main building.

"This is where you shall be working from now on. If you noticed that the other maids looked rather scared when I mentioned Lady Wen it is because Lady Wen is noone to play with. She expects order and will not hesitate to punish you for disobeying her or lounging around."

'Oh she and Madam Yu could be sisters,"Xia thinks to herself.

Daiyu takes her to a storage room and takes out neat red robes before taking her to her new room.
"This will be your new uniform. Unlike the other maids residence, you are fortunate to have your own room as well as your own private outside hotspring. Go change and then meet me back here so I can take you to Lady Wen."

Xia nods and then leaves into her room to go outside to wash and change. After she puts on her robes, she places her hair in twin pigtails, putting them over her shoulders. When she walks out of her room, Daiyu looks her over,making sure she looks presentable, before taking her to Lady Wen's personal garden.

They walk to an area where a woman in a green hanfu is standing with her back turned to them as she waters a flower. Her hair is long and stops at her ankles while the rest is brushed up in a high bun with golden hair pins on each side. She was ethereal, like a goddess in a fairy tale.

Daiyu bows and Xia follows her lead, her heart beat quickening.

The woman turns around and Xia's eyes widen.
'Its her...the woman from my vision.'

Lady Wen Royi looks at Xia for a moment, looking her over, before turning to Daiyu.

"This is the girl?"  Her voice is soft and comforting, which seemed to contrast to her rather intimidating appearance.

Daiyu nods.
"Yes M'lady. She's one of my best maids and never causes trouble."

Lady Royi hums in acknowledgement before nodding.
"Alright. I'll keep her. You may leave now."

Daiyu bows once more before leaving Xia and Lady Wen alone. Lady Wen looks at Xia again.

"What is your name childe?"

"M-my name? Its X-Xia!" she stammers nervously . Lady Wen nods.

"Alright Xia. Welcome to my moon lily house. All I ask is that you follow my rules and remain loyal to me, and I will reward you well." Her eyes narrow," But if I find out that you are a spy for my brother or nephews, I wont hesitate to kill you."

Xia nods quickly.
"Y-yes my lady!" she laughs nervously," Also I swear I am not a spy! I dont like your nephews or brother!"

Taken back by her words, Lady Daiyu covers her mouth with the sleeve of her beautiful green hanfu robe.
"Though I couldnt agree more, id suggest you watch your words, childe.There are eyes all over this place." She begins walking towards the entrance into her home.

"Come, I will tell you more about your tasks in my study."

Xia follows behind the woman obediently,curious as to what she is going to be doing for her.

'Well Li Mu, looks like i'm in.'

'So this is Lady Wen Royi. She's different from the others. And it looks like you may have a new ally if you play your cards right.'

Xia nods.
'And maybe I'll find out a bit more about Wen Ruyi..iand hopefully...I'll finally know why I've come to this world.'
