𝒯he outside of the apartment building looked as though it would crumble if you so much as stepped inside, and the top three floors were completely collapsed in, burned black beyond repair.

Wooyoung had asked repeatedly if it was safe to go inside, but San had waved him off every time.

A front door to the complex didn't exist, and the building had been raided and graffitied so badly that it felt eerie to step inside.

The stairs creaked and a few even had broken, splintering timber poking out on dangerous angles... He shuddered as he thought about what it must have felt like to be the unlucky one who had gone straight through the timber, copping the shards up through their feet and shredding their legs to tatters...

The hallways were barren, dust lining every surface and vines grew along the walls.

But as they ventured further into the building, the wear began to appear slightly less Jurassic, and slightly more post-apocalyptic.

Walking almost completely in silence, they climbed a set of stairs that opened up to a hallway lined on both sides with doors. It looked different to the other floors they had passed. Here, there were almost no vines, very minimal broken furniture laying about, and the ceiling didn't possess gaping holes like other floors had. Here, it was just stained a sooty black.

'This is the only floor that wasn't completely annihilated by the fire,' San said. 'Lucky for us, fire doors prevented everything from burning to nothing. Can't say as much for the other floors though. This is the highest floor that wasn't destroyed. The one above this level was one of those three levels that we saw outside, all collapsed in.'

Nodding, he glanced around, incredibly uncomfortable. He couldn't help looking back over his shoulder every few moments, listening to the creaking of the building around them.

However when he noticed San halt before one of the doors towards the end of the hallway, he watched the Strigoi pull out a keyring from his pocket. Unlocking both the handle and the deadbolt, the door swung open, and standing aside, the vampire gestured for him to go inside first, still holding the box of his belongings with one arm.

'Home sweet home. Welcome to our five star resort~'

Sniffing the air and straining his ears, he gulped nervously as he made his way very cautiously towards the door... Shivering as he paid the vampire a glance, very hesitantly, he leaned forward to peer inside...

and his lips fell apart...

Five star...

Perhaps an Elf might have laughed. Perhaps he might have laughed too, once upon a time...
