ℳ𝒾𝓃𝑔𝒾

𝒯he rays of sunlight were beautifully warm, and Mingi wondered whether it was possible that it was warmer here on Strigoi land than in the Kingdom. The light shone down in cylindrical tubes through the treetops to feed the tiny plants on the forest floor, and it somehow made the air taste sweeter.

Wandering side by side, hand in hand with Yunho, he had been so incredibly awed when the fox pointed out little shards of mirror that were strung up through the trees—some far enough above their heads to make him wonder how they had come to have gotten up there in the first place. They caused the light bounce around the trees in a magical display of natural beauty, and it made him never want to leave...

With no destination in mind, they had eventually ended up at the edge of a sparkling pond with a glazed pebble shore and a waterfall that created a beautifully serene ambience. They had sat together there upon the water's edge for what had felt like forever, talking gently and soaking in the warm sun rays.

But as nice as that felt, he thought this felt better...

A short ways away from him, the pebbled shoreline met a rocky ledge where deep glistening shades of blue gave away far deeper water, and resting in it, a toned bare back leading up to a dark head of hair poked up above the stone edge...

Yunho.

So effortlessly perched like it was the most simple of life's pleasures, he had been watching the fox's hair slightly flutter with each gentle gust of breeze, and the muscles in his back pulling gently as he rested back against the rocky backrest, no doubt swirling his hands around in the sparkling water. It felt like a blessing to be able to admire him for so long, just gazing at his handsome features, and letting it sink in that he was here... Here, with Yunho, and if he didn't want to, he didn't have to ever leave.

His emotionally tired body felt heavy and exhausted, but being with Yunho made him feel secure. It was like although he couldn't remember their long, treacherous history, his body did, and while it may have been illogical for most, for him, being with Yunho felt like it was where he was meant to be. He felt it in every fibre of his being.

This was it.

Being with Yunho made him feel like he could cope... Cope with the way his heart had been aching with the pain of worrying about Yeosang, and then having relief drown him in a split second... Cope with having terror take over his emotional palate for Hongjoong, of whom he had left behind... Cope with a guttural confusion within his heart over whether or not he was slowly growing a bond towards an Elf who was already tied to another, and cope with the realisation that he had been living out a destiny filled with reincarnation, not only returning to the earth over and over again, but also torturing this Kitsune who had been fated to meet him time and time again.
