We created a bond
I took off all the lights,
Television and silenced my phone

I sang , talked to you
And when I sang it would feel as if you were swaying to the melody within my womb
Although I was battling depression and heartbreak your heartbeat seemed to soothe my soul

When you were born
My heart filled with an unforgettable joy that ceased my tears
I finally have someone who will love me forever

I watched you sleep to make sure you were breathing
Once you came home from the hospital
Because I missed hearing rhythm your heartbeat along with mine

Now to see that you are a toddler
Intelligent
Impatient
Calculated
Chatter box
Mischievous
Oh how I love to hear you laugh it warms my heart

"Mommy I missed you "

Of course there are days when
You make my head spin , chest hurt
But I will never give up on you or choose anyone before you
