Chapter 3: 101

I can't help but need more answers.
So I text Emily.
"Hey did you know that Cole's mom and sister are missing?"

She doesn't read it so I just try and go to sleep.
It takes me awhile but I eventually drift off.

The next morning I wake up to a text.
It's from Emily.

"Biggest headache. And yea they've been missing since 2014, but don't ask about it he doesn't like talking about it." It reads.

"Yea I figured. What happened?" I text back.
She takes a minute to type.

"All he's told me is that his mom took his sister to get groceries on New Year's Eve and they never came home. He also said his mother was also raped prior that past year and that he believes it's someone who was on campus at the time but still comes because there are an abnormal amount of sexual assaults and roofies here." She says.

"Is that why he doesn't like drinking?" I ask.

"Yes." She says.

"He is the way he is because of everything. Caleb's known him for a lot longer and Caleb said he used to be a lot looser but after he hardly even laughed."

"That's terrible." I say.

"Yea, and they still haven't been found so it's like he hasn't gotten closure." Emily says.

"Yea I bet." I say back.
"I have to get ready for my tutoring class I'll text you later." I say and then get up.

I get to Mr. Grahams class room and get to practicing.

"You're very talented, I know you think since you're in tutoring you're not, but the ones that aren't here are the ones you're better than because you're learning more." Graham says.

"Thank you, I try."
Then a text pops up on my phone.

"Oh texting your boyfriend?" Graham asks.

"No definitely not." I say with a laugh and look at my phone.

"Cole changed the group name to "core four""

I smile. That was sweet.
Then another notification, a direct text.

"Hey it's Cole. If you'd let me, I'd love to take you to dinner tonight around 6."
I get beat red.

Then I hear a laugh.
"You sure look like you're talking to a boy." Graham says.

I look up, embarrassed.

"Or a girl?" Graham asks with wide eyes.

"No no!" I laugh.

"I'd love to, where at?" I send as a reply.

"You like sushi?" He asks.

"Never had it." I reply.

"You will tonight. I'll pick you up outside of your dorm at six." He says.

"Okayy." I reply.

Wow, really just took the initiative.
I love it.

A couple hours later and Emily is in my dorm helping me get ready.

"I am just so excited, I wish Caleb would take me out." Emily says.
