Martial Law POV

It's been a few months since we saw UN's poor form for the first time. How do I know it's been months despite there being no clocks or calenders? Well, I managed to pick out a sharp rock from the stone floor my first day here, and have been marking how many days I've been trapped here. The wall I've been using is almost filled with tallies.

Anyway, back to what I was saying. The past months have been...awful, to say the least. The jerks managed to get Palestine to reveal her wings since she had been hiding them, and they've been ripping both her and UN's wings out once they're finished growing back; and that's also a painful process.

So, as you can imagine, Palestine and UN are in a lot of pain right now. But even through that, Palestine continues to resist and does the opposite of what they want us to do: fighting back, talking back, and more. A few times she managed to injure one of them.

...How? How does she do it? She must be in so much pain, how is she continuing? Why is she continuing? UN can hardly move without whimpering in pain.

I admire her. I stopped resisting a while ago, I think a week or two after I got here? I can't remember. Despite all the pain she's in she keeps doing what she's doing.

I jumped and was yanked out of my thoughts upon hearing my door open. I looked over and saw Small and immediately relaxed. Small stepped inside and closed the door. "Um...how are you?" Small asked, approaching my cell.

"Awful." I replied, my voice hoarse.

Small sighed. "Figured... Are you hungry?"

I nodded. Small stepped out of the room for a few seconds before coming back inside with a plate and a glass of water. "The food here is gross so I made you guys some stuff while I was ho-" he shut his mouth.

"...You can say it."

"...I made food for y'all while I was home yesterday.." Small hesitantly said.

"Lets just hope you're a good cook." I joked and managed a little smile.

Small chuckled softly and gave me the plate and cup. "Don't worry, I'm a pretty good cook."

"Good to know." I smiled at him and began to eat.

"See ya, Martial." Small waved.

"Bye."

Small left and I heard wheels. Is he pushing a trolly? Wow, he really did make everyone something. Why is someone like him working here? He's so sweet.

I mean...he does keep good company and he takes care of us, so I guess him being here is good? I'm not sure, but I appreciate him.

I heard knocking on the wall behind me. I scooted closer to it and pressed my ear against it before taking a drink of water. "Hello?" I asked, my voice already sounding better.

"Hey, Martial." Finland greeted. His voice was quiet, as it had always been since he got here.

"Hey, Finland. How've you been?"

"There's really only one way to feel here."

"Yeah, true." I sighed. "Did uh...did Small give you food?"

"Joo. (Yeah.) It's pretty good, isn't it?"

"Mhm. He's a great cook."

I heard some shuffling from Finland's end. "You know...it's pretty obvious how different Small is from the others. Do you think we could convince him to-"

"No, he wouldn't do it. I doubt he'd do it." I cut in.

"Okay... Just a thought.." Finland mumbled.

I heard him yawn. "Try and sleep, Fin." I told him.

"Sure, okay..." More shuffling. "Talk to you later, Martial."

"Talk to you later."

I went back to eating. The silence eventually caused me to start thinking of my family. I wonder how my brothers are faring, and my parents. Katipunan and Perla are probably paranoid and aren't letting Philippines and Del Pilar out of their sight. Knowing them, everyone is probably carrying some form of weapon wherever they go.

I sighed softly and hugged my knees. I miss them. I miss my friends. I miss everyone. I miss not constantly being in pain.

I felt myself shiver and figured it's time to try and sleep. I curled up and shut my eyes. Surprisingly enough, I managed to fall asleep within 5 hours.

New record.
