JJ's past relationship and recent loss left her in a fragile state, and her best friend Emily was there for her through it all. The best friends realize their relationship goes way past friends, but will either of them admit it?
I finish the last curl in my hair and brush the curls out slightly. I put on some mascara, blush, highlighter, and lastly lip gloss. I check my phone praying that we don't get called in on a case. It's been one week since Emily and I kissed in my office. We have been spending a lot more time together, but the team has been really busy with cases and paperwork. Emily and I decided it was time to go out on a real date. I pick out a tight fitting emerald green silk dress. (photo inspo of the dress will be at the bottom) I pair it with a silver Chanel necklace, matching earrings, and a white clutch. I look over at the clock it reads 6:52, Emily will be here in 8 minutes. I clean up my make-up in the restroom and go into the living room to wait. My hands are sweating and I start to feel the nervousness in me rise. Why are you so nervous JJ? I think to myself, Emily is and has been your best friend since she came to the BAU. Tonight is no different than any other girls night. But, tonight is different than girls night. Garcia is not going to be there, we are going to some fancy restaurant and not a bar, and the night will hopefully end in making out or maybe even more. I snap out of my thoughts when I hear a knock at the door.
Emily's Point of View
As I get out of the shower, I check the time 6:17 perfect, I have to pick JJ up at 7. I dry my hair and curl it. (Lauren Reynolds style) I apply light make-up and pick out my dress. I chose a red off the shoulder dress that hugs my body and is slightly ruffled at the bottom. The dress shows just the right amount of cleavage and JJ always says she likes the color red on me. I then go to my dresser and pick out a lacy black thong, I don't want to get my hopes up for tonight but I want to be prepared in case. I leave my apartment a little before 6:45 and arrive at JJ's at 6:58. When I get to her door, it is 7:00 on the dot. I take a deep breath before knocking, I can feel the nerves building up, but when JJ opens the door she takes my breath away. Her dress hugs her body in all the right places and her necklace puts her outfit over the top.
"Em, close your mouth," JJ says
"Jayje, you look gorgeous," I say still admiring her
"Thanks Em, you looks amazing as well," JJ kisses my cheek, grabs my hand, and we head out.

JJ's Point of View:
Emily and I get into the car and she starts driving. She reaches over the console and grabs my hand.
"So Em, you still haven't told me where we're going," I say
"Jayje, you will see when we get there," Emily says
We drive pretty far out of DC and arrive at a small restaurant. When I first see it, it looks pretty ordinary. The hostess leads us out to the back patio that over looks a lake. The view makes me release a breath I didn't know I was holding.
"Oh my gosh Em, how did you find this place?" I ask
"A friend showed it to me when I first moved to D.C, you are the first person I've ever brought here," Emily smiles at me, I look into her eyes. Gosh, I can't believe it took me this long to tell her I love her. I lean over and kiss Emily.
I order a pasta dish and it is almost at good as Rossi's. Emily orders a steak. We finish dinner off with a strawberry dessert.
"Wow Em, that was delicious," I say grabbing her hand to leave
"I'm glad you liked it," She says kissing my cheek
"So," I start, "Do you want to head back to my apartment?"
"JJ! As much as I would love to go back to your apartment, I have one more thing for us to do," Emily says. I look at her confused as she drapes a sweater over me.
"Since you're always cold," Emily says.
We turn down the corner and I see lots of little shops and cafes lining the street. The street is filled with flowers and fairy lights. We walk down the strip for a while and head back as the temperature start to drop.
Emily's Point of View:
Everything about this night has been perfect, I can't wait to head back to JJ's apartment. When we arrive back at the car, I push JJ against the car kissing her and exploring her body. We are in the middle of a long kiss when my phone rings
"Prentiss," I say
"Emily, we have a case. Come in as soon as you can we are leaving when everyone gets here," Hotch says
"Oh, okay. Um I can tell JJ," I say, Hotch can probably hear the disappointment in my voice as I hang up
"Hotch?" JJ asks, I can see the excitement in her eyes fade
"Yeah we have a case we are leaving as soon as we all get to the BAU, no time to go home," I respond
"Em, we can't go to work looking like this," JJ says
"We have to, it's probably a really bad case," I say getting in the car
About 30 minutes later we arrive at the BAU
"Woah, what were you two up to?" Derek asks looking at us. Before either of us can respond Hotch comes in
"What took you guys so long," He says sternly
"Sorry we weren't near Quantico," JJ says
Hotch looks up at us noticing our dresses, "Oh," he responds and drops the subject.
JJ and I change into more appropriate work clothes and board the jet. There has been a series of spree killings in Wisconsin, and the unsub has killed two more within 6 hours. The local police need our help and they need it fast. After debriefing, the team tries to get some sleep for the remaining 2 hours of the flight. JJ and I are under a blanket on the couch, her head is on my shoulder. I think she is sleeping until she whispers something to me,
"Em?"
"Yeah beautiful?"
"Do you think the team knows about us? Obviously Spence does, but did you see the way Hotch dropped the subject as soon as he saw what we were wearing?" JJ looks worried, relationships between agents is strictly prohibited at the bureau.
"JJ, we are going to have to tell them at some point. I mean, they are all profilers so they are bound to find out," I say
"I guess," JJ says and snuggles closer to me. I kiss her on the forehead
"Try to get some sleep my love, we have a long next few days ahead of us."
JJ falls asleep quickly. I look at her, she is so beautiful and peaceful. I am going to spend the rest of my life with this girl.

Hey guys! This chapter is just kind of a filler because I don't want to move things to quickly. Thank you so much for the votes and comments! I'm not really sure what I am going to do for the next chapter because I am not good at writing cases. I have a pretty good idea for how I want the story to go, but I don't want to rush it!! Also everyone is saying that Criminal Minds is getting a reboot!!!! I'm SOOO excited if it is true!! I hope the old cast comes back as the season 7 team is my favorite but I also really like Tara, Matt, and Luke! I would also love for Blake or Kate to come back for a few episodes!! I don't really want to get my hopes up incase it isn't actually true though. Anyways have a wonderful day loves!!
