What's poppin'
So, I wrote this after finishing up a summer of working at a fireworks stand myself, so a lot of these scenes are... I wouldn't go as far as saying they're based on real events, but a lot of this stuff is realistic in regards to working at a Fireworks Stand/my experiences last summer. That being said I know some parts are probably cringe and a bit far-fetched, but my goal for this book was to make a light, easy slow burn that I could at least relate to in some way.
Just a quick disclaimer, the main character, Hadlee, is white, and the male main character, Arlo, is mixed. A lot of the characters in the book are Latinx/Hispanic, and there are a few scenes in which Spanish will be used. For the most part, I included translations, but not for smaller phrases or unimportant details. I want race and gender to play a significant part in my stories, so... if I ever write anything even slightly politically incorrect or offensive, please let me know. Don't let me get away with any crap. Okay.
Here are some visual aids to use if you so desire:
Arlo:
Hadlee^ (That's absolutely not one person but if you mash em all together you may just get something kinda like what I imagine Hadlee to look like)
These aren't mandatory or anything, I honestly don't even picture the characters as these people, but I know a lot of people enjoy stuff like that.
Okie-Doke, enjoy the story. :)
