Up In Flames
S. Johnston
All I see is the world on fire,
The life I know has come to an end.
So to my bed I must retire.I see only red, a shade of desire.
I sit, wait, and pray for a Godsend.
All I see is the world on fire. There is no escape, I'm trapped in barbed wire.
No point in trying, for I am penned,
So to my bed I must retire.I have never been much of a cryer,
But I'm full of fear and can't pretend.
All I see is the world on fire.I know eventually, all must expire.
Calmly I wait while the flames extend,
So to my bed I must retire.Take one last look at the home I admire,
I greet it warmly, as if an old friend.
All I see is the world on fire,
So to my bed I must retire.

PoetryA collection of poems I've written for my creative writing class, they definitely get better as the chapters progress. Most of them make me cringe but I'll leave them up anyways.. Some published poetry will be in here and I give credit to the author...
