The War Against Sleep
S.Johnston
I’m tired. My vision is fuzzy and my eyes have stopped focusing. I try to keep reading, the words are like vapor on the page, smoke blowing in the wind on a summer night. I can’t give into my weary brain’s requests, I must remain awake. I refuse to shut my eyes, the consequences of carelessly closing them could be too great. In this moment, sleep is my greatest foe in a battle I’ve been fighting for what seems like years. But I’ve never been good at defeating my enemies and Hypnos easily overpowers me. His son Morpheus traps me, locking me in an eternal sleep. Sleeping is for the weak and my defeat only serves as proof.

PoetryA collection of poems I've written for my creative writing class, they definitely get better as the chapters progress. Most of them make me cringe but I'll leave them up anyways.. Some published poetry will be in here and I give credit to the author...
