third person.
after his talk with ashley, corbyn had semi-listened to what she said. he was going to take her advice, it was just going to take some time for him to do so.
he first started off with leaving his room. he had also cleaned it since it had accumulated a lot of disgust over the course of his grief stage in the break up.
the clean up was a little hard for him though, since the trash around the room had been hiding all of the memories of arianna he had in his room.
such as, multiple pictures of her framed around, some clothes she had left over his place from when she would stay there, and various items she had bought him and given to him as gifts. he didn't realize how much of her things he had until he started cleaning it all.
after he had done that corbyn had decided to let out his emotions by writing a song. so picked up his guitar and notebook and started to write whatever he could think of.
"she said 'i really miss the old you' then found someone better" he thought about arianna and parker and how parker had taken care of her after he had treated her so badly.
he knew the two friends weren't even the slightest bit interested in each other, but corbyn had just wished he was the one to have helped her through her rough time instead of adding to it.
"i really miss the old me, maybe he was better" corbyn noticed how much of a change he had really gone through. the old him used to make time for his girlfriend no matter what, but over time he just seemed to stop doing that.
"if we're said and done, i know i shouldn't say that i still care, but i still care. and even when you're moving on i hope you know that i'll be there, i'll be there. i'll be there for you" no matter how bad of a boyfriend he was at the end, corbyn would always care for arianna. he didn't want to let her go, but he knew it was what she deserved. she deserved everything and more, and even if he couldn't be with her anymore he would always love and support her.
"was it easy to let me go? say it quick, love my name when you're saying it. i don't really know why i'm sayin' this 'cause nothin' i'm saying is gonna change this" even though corbyn understood why she ended it, he wondered how long she may have known she was going to do it. when he thought back on that treacherous day, corbyn realized how set in her decision arianna was. she must've thought about it before, and corbyn wondered if there was really anything he could've said at that point to change the outcome of their relationship.
corbyn wrote a little more and fixed up a few verses before setting down the guitar, picking up the notebook, grabbing his keys and driving off to the seavey household. once he got there, he knocked on the door only for it to reveal christian at the front.
"hey man, i didn't know you were coming over" christian greeted him and let him inside.
"yeah i didn't give daniel the heads up, but i have something i want to show him, is he here?" corbyn asked stuffing his hands into his pockets.
"yeah he's in the studio" christian pointed out back which corbyn thanked him for and headed out to the separate studio space they had at their house.
corbyn walked in to see daniel at the computer messing with some harmonies. hearing the door open, daniel turned around and furrowed his eyebrows when seeing corbyn.
"hey, what are you doing here?" daniel asked.
"i wrote this song and wanted to see what you thought of it, i think it'll be good for the album" corbyn opened up the notebook and showed daniel the lyrics he had written. "i also have a voice memo recording of how i think it could sound"
daniel read over the lyrics and sighed. don't get him wrong, he thought the lyrics were amazing and knew instantly that this song would go on the album. it's just who the lyrics were about that got him.
the song wasn't essentially a happy song. it also didn't help that he hadn't really seen corbyn since the split between him and arianna. yes, they were bandmates, but they were always friends first.
so daniel closed the notebook and looked at corbyn. "are you okay corbyn?"
corbyn furrowed his eyebrows, "what?"
"are you okay?" daniel repeated. "i mean, the guys and i haven't really heard from you in a while, and don't worry we get it, but now you showed up with this song and it's not the happiest song"
"oh just wait till you hear the tune i have for it and then you'll get—"
"corbyn" daniel interrupted. "it doesn't matter how upbeat the track may possibly be. it doesn't change the fact that these lyrics aren't happy, meaning you aren't happy"
the boy sighed and plopped down on the couch. "no, i'm not happy"
"what's going on man?" daniel asked. "talk to me, let me help you please"
"it all just sucks right now. i haven't heard or seen her in a month and i deserve it all i know, but it just honestly sucks to know that i'm feeling this shitty and i can't go to her because she just makes everything better" corbyn vented. "and the worst part about it is, i hurt her. so if i'm feeling this awful, how is she doing?"
"have you talked to her? or any of the guys maybe? i think ashley has, but she won't tell me anything because she says i don't deserve to know since it's my fault i'm in this mess" corbyn told him.
daniel shook his head, "none of us have heard from her, we've reached out, but we've gotten no response. zach gets a one worded answer here and there but that's the best we've got"
"and ashley is completely right, it is you're fault" daniel nodded.
corbyn rolled his eyes, "didn't you say you wanted to help me? how is telling me something i'm very much aware of helping?"
"i am helping" daniel shrugged. "you need to understand that you've been nothing but an absolute dick to her. i'm not going to sit here and hold your hand and lie to you saying it isn't your fault and that she made a mistake when it totally is your fault and she was right in her decision."
"but you've made mistakes. relationships take time and hard work. if you really love her like you say you do, then you will do everything in your power to get her back. it just starts with figuring out your mistakes, which you've done, and learning from them. do you think you've learned from it?" daniel questioned.
corbyn nodded, "i do. i could never put her through this again. i wouldn't be able to live with myself and i barely can now"
"then just get your shit together already and start working towards getting your girl back because let me tell you, you look absolutely awful right now and i know that's because you miss her" daniel stated. "one thing you can't do is make her feel pressured into getting back with you especially since you don't deserve it. prove to her that you aren't the shit boyfriend you were"
corbyn nodded, "yeah... yeah you're right"
"i always am" daniel pretended to flip his hair. "now let's get this song together because this one slaps"
