"so i realized it's been a while since we've had a proper date so i decided to take you on one" corbyn said to the girl sitting next to him.

the couple were currently in corbyn's car, this time having him drive, on their way to a date corbyn planned. arianna had known nothing about it and it was quickly thrown at her when corbyn came over demanding to change out of her sweatpants into something cute.

"and you decided this at one in the morning? corbyn i was watching a movie" arianna complained.

"you've seen dreamgirls over ten million times you will be fine" corbyn laughed glancing at her for a minute before turning back to look at the road.

"but effie was just about to get told off by deena in 'it's all over' and we know that's my favorite part because of the way beyoncé owns that scene doof" arianna folded her arms.

"ugh what did i say about hanging out with daniel so much?"

"not to do it but i'm my own independent person who doesn't need your permission to hang out with my friends so fuck off"

"this was supposed to be a cute date" corbyn said. "but instead we have argued the whole time we have been in this car"

"well technically the date hasn't started yet and it is one am so i'm not going to be happy yet" arianna shrugged as they pulled up to the spot.

"and here we are" corbyn announced parking the car and turning to his girlfriend to see her reaction to it.

arianna stared at it blankly. "it's a fucking children's playground..."

"yes that it is" corbyn said still smiling. "i know it's weird but i think it'd be fun to have a little midnight picnic here and there are swings and slides we can have fun on"

"well alright then corby worby, lead the way" arianna smiled as he did in return grabbing their basket of food out of the backseat and the both of them exiting the car.

"did you make the whole picnic?" arianna asked him while she grabbed his hand interlocking their fingers.

corbyn hesitantly answered, "well no, ashley and my mom did most of it"

"what is most exactly?"

"like all of it"

arianna laughed and shook her head, "of course besson, of course"

"what can you blame me for wanting to actually try for once, we don't do dates like this" corbyn shrugged.

"i mean we've never been this type of couple that does dates like this" the girl voiced.

"yeah that's what i thought, but the other day zach said we were an affectionate couple"

arianna furrowed her eyebrows at the boy as they set up their picnic. "what? since when?"

"that's what i said!" corbyn agreed. "it's whatever though, i just thought this would be cute"

"it kind of reminds me of our first date though, remember that?" arianna smiled.

corbyn groaned and hide his face in his hands. "ugh don't remind me, i was such a dork"

"hey i had a crush on that dork!" arianna defended. "you would fly a whole five hours to new york just to visit me"

"and for some reason i did that for our first date...i really flew out to your apartment in new york to see you and we sat on your balcony floor and ate since i didn't have an actual plan of what to do"

"i still think it was cute" arianna shrugged. "it's so weird to think i lived in new york when we met since i've lived here for so long now"

"yeah i kind of miss the new york apartment, but i'm glad you're here because you're closer to me now" corbyn said wrapping his arms around her waist.

"same the apartment was cute but-"

arianna was soon cut off when they heard thunder causing them both to look up at the sky. "is it supposed to rain today?" she questioned.

"i don't think so...but i guess it's-"

now corbyn was cut off when it started to rain uncontrollably. "wow that came out of nowhere"

"like a hurricane or something" arianna laughed. "we should get going though so the rain doesn't make our food soggy"

corbyn nodded, "mhm but let me have this cheesy couple moment really quickly"

the boy then pulled his girlfriend to him and kissed her giving her a second to kiss him back since she didn't know what was happening.

once they pulled away he smiled at her. "a kiss in the rain type like in the movies"

"you're adorable but i'm drenched from the rain so can we please go" arianna pleaded.

"oh yeah we definitely can" corbyn nodded as they both ran off to the car.

after he dropped arianna off at her place, he started heading back to his. as he was on his way there he started humming to himself.

"out of nowhere like a hurricane, pull me in and kiss me in the rain" corbyn sang as he quickly got to his house and ran inside to find jonah.

"JONAH JONAH I THINK I GOT SOMETHING" he shouted throughout the house with a widening smile.
