The cool refreshing salt water hit my body with force I could barely stand. It was hard to believe I gained a tail, two aunts, and a mother all in one day.
"Nixie, hurry we are almost there."
Our bodies popping out of the water as if we were Dolphins dancing with the waves. I began to feel the sand as we began to get closer to the shore. I could feel my legs change form.
"What are we doing here?" I asked.
"Wanna meet you aunt?" Marie asked.
All I could do was nod. I walked with her to a cave then we stopped.
"Starla!" Marie whispered loudly.
We waited a few moments then a girl who looked just over 20 slowly came out into the light. She had beautiful blonde hair and green scales.
"Is it safe?" She asked scared.
"Yes, come here I would like you to meet someone."
She came out even further then looked at me.
"Who is this? Why is she here? Marie you know that...."
"This is Nixie." Marie replied cutting her off.
"Nixie?.... You mean?"
"Your niece..."
Starla put her hands over her mouth and just stared at me.
Then she gave me a big hug.
"I'm so glad you're alive." Starla said.
"And she's gonna help us." Marie said.
"Yeah," I replied. "Wait what?"
"You are gonna help set your mother free and to stop Oceana."
"How?"
"We will have to come up with a plan."
"What plain?" I asked.
"We have to trick Oceana to tell us where your mother is." Marie said. "Starla I need you to get me close to Oceana so I can read her mind..."
"But if she sees you she will kill yo...." Suddenly Starla stopped talking.
"Starla?! You okay?" I asked. "What's wrong with her?"
Starla took a deep breath and looked scared.
"What did you see?" Marie asked.
"Oceana..... Has Melody locked in a cage. And she's looking for me... She knows something's up. I gotta go." Starla said.
"Wait!" I said, "Let us go with you!"
"No," Starla said, "it's too dangerous."
"Please! I promise I won't be a distraction."
Starla thought for a moment then spoke.
"No it's too dangerous, I would feel better if you stayed with Marie. And I come to get you when the coast is clear."
I rolled my eyes and sat in the sand.
"We'll be here when you return." Marie said.
Then Starla left.
Slowly night fell and Marie and I fell asleep. I had my dream again... About how mom rescued me, then Oceana chocking me out. I awoke with a jolt. I turned to my right to find that Marie was still asleep. Slowly and quietly I got up and walked into the ocean and swam away... Hopefully I had some kind of way to find mom. I began to swim in the same way that Starla swam and hoped not to get lost.
