Dex threw himself at his mother.
"He was an inflictor!" He yelled
Juline shook her head.
"He just inflicted!" Dex yelled, facing his mother, glowering
She shrunk.
"Tell me now!" Dex said, grabbing her shoulders.
Biana tried to push through towards her husband but the crowd was thick.
"Not now." His mother whispered
"Now!" Dex yelled, pushing his mother back
"I lived in scorn because of your mistake." Dex yelled
"Dex......." Juline cried
Fitz levitated Biana over the crowd and into the circle where her husband and mother-in-law where having a fight.
The minute Biana's feet touched the floor she raced over to Dex.
"Dex. Dex. Maybe we shouldn't do this here." Biana said, trying to soothe him
"She'll just run away from this if we let her go." Dex growled
"What if she doesn't want Neverseen spies?" Biana asked
Dex un-clenched his fists.
He grabbed Juline's and Biana's wrist. He nodded to Oralie and Kenric, asked Sophie to take care of Rose and Charlotte, then light-leapt away with both women.
Slowly the whole room turned towards The Council, who where having a telepathetic conversation.
Sophie let out a giggle when she saw Calla trying intently to tune in to their conversation from Bronte's arms.
Fitz smiled
Rose and Charlotte cowered from the crowd staring at them.
"Their grandparents are crazy." Somebody muttered
"They're father is a savage." Another whispered
"Stop!" Sophie yelled
All eyes turned to her
"Kesler just saved my daughter and Bronte! He had an ability! Dex lived in scorn from you guys because of his father and you. Dex has every right to be mad. You should be ashamed. Saying things like that to children!" Sophie said
The crowd stared at her.
"She's right." Bronte said, stepping forward
"You're just defending your daughter!" Somebody yelled
"Booo!" The crowd booed
"STOP!" Councillor Emery yelled
"We just lost another elf. Be ashamed." He spoke truly and clearly
