"Yeah well, that's exactly what I'm talking about. You can't just" Calum's rant was interrupted by an awkward cough that came from a brunette girl standing behind him, he turned around and immediately jumped out of the couch.

"Hey"

"Hi Cal" Then he turned to us again leading her to the couch with a hand on her back.

"So, this is Jane, guys" Calum looked weird, like nervous. He was almost never nervous, so it was weird. "Um, that's Mike, that one's Luke, then Ashton and Kay, and next to her is B" He pointed at each of us and we all greeted her.

I turned to KayKay and leaned closer so only she'd hear. "Should we?" I asked, knowing she'd know what I was saying. She nodded and spoke up.

"Hey Jane, would you like something to drink?"

"Sure, thank you"

"Why don't you come with so you can see your options?" I told her while we stood up. Calum looked terrified, he was looking at me and shaking his head, which was pretty stupid. We just thought it'd be easier for the girl to talk to us a little, meeting so many people at the same time can be overwhelming.

And also we wanted to make sure she wasn't... well, a bitch. Don't get it wrong, I don't like judging, but Calum has a history of not being the best at choosing girls. He's too trustful, always assumes the best of everyone. I like thinking the best of everyone too, but I keep my guard up, Calum usually doesn't.

So we walked her to the kitchen. "So, this is it, pretty much anything you'd like"

"I'm a beer kinda girl, honestly" Jane said.

"Really? So you're not one to drink too much, then" Kay responded.

"Well, maybe sometimes, at parties and stuff. But I have to be in a certain mood, is not like I get trashed every time I go out"

KayKay looked at me with meaningful eyes and I knew exactly what to ask. "And what's your kind of drink in those cases, when you do feel like getting a little tipsy?"

"I'm not picky, but if I can choose, then tequila, always"

That's when Kay squealed like a teenage girl. It's stupid, but we have this theory that hasn't been disproven yet: People who love tequila are people worth having around. We'll support the theory until proven wrong.

Jane looked at her puzzled and Kay explained. "Sorry, is just we love tequila and we love people who love tequila"

"We don't want to be too pushy, but just know that you can always talk boys with us, rant about Calum or whatever, if you need. We'll be there for it"

"Definitely" KayKay added.

"Well, thanks guys" She sipped her beer and opened her mouth, but then closed it again.

"We mean it. Look, Calum is my brother, yes, but he can still be an idiot as any other guy. I'm not gonna run to him to tell him what you said" I assured her.

"As long as it's like... not trash talk" KayKay said.

"No, of course!" She still looked doubtful. "Well, there's actually something" She looked at me and I nodded. "I just, I don't know if he really likes me or not, I mean obviously he likes me, but I'm starting to think that he only likes me as a friend"

"What makes you think that?"

"You saw how he greeted me, right? He didn't even kiss me on the cheek"

KayKay chuckled and I glared at her. "Sorry"

"Calum is kinda shy sometimes and he's extremenly polite, he's either not sure that you like him or he didn't want to kiss you in front of his friends, in case you felt uncomfortable with that"
