𝗔𝗖𝗡𝗛: 𝗡𝗘𝗪 𝗟𝗜𝗙𝗘

08: campfire

It quickly turned to night. The night sky here was dark and blue. You could see the shimmering night stars here perfectly. It was so beautiful.

Tom Nook called us back to the plaza where we all gathered around.

"Well, well! Today has been so busy and delightful! I am incredibly proud with all the hard work you've all been doing." He said with a smile.

I felt proud of myself, and proud of all the other villagers.

"Now, let's get started with the festivities!"

Tom Nook turned around and lit up the big campfire behind him. We all clapped and cheered in joy. "Hooray!" Cherry cheered.

"At last, allow me to properly welcome you to your new island!" Tom declared.

"I have participated in many ventures and endeavors over the years, but this may be the most exciting. Now, we may not have the kind of numbers I envisioned on this island, but with Nook Inc's help, We'll shape this island entirely from scratch and help build a thriving community!" He exclaimed.

"We'll help shape this deserted isー" He stopped himself.

"Oh, I suppose we can't continue to call this island a 'deserted island' anymore!" He admitted.

"But what SHOULD we call it?" Tom thought.

"Ah, As the first residents on this island, we should be the ones to name it. What do you say?"

"Yes!" We cheered.

"Alright, Take a little time to think and we'll decide on the name by majority vote."

We took time to think. I finally got the island name perfectly in my head. Evergreen. Evergreen Island!

A minute passed and everyone had a name in mind.

"Alright! Let's all yell out the names we have in mind! Three... Two... One...-"

"Isla de Bicep!" Poncho yelled.

"Awesome Beach!" Cherry yelled.

"Nooktopia!" Timmy Yelled.

"Tom Town!" Tommy yelled.

"Evergreen!" I yelled.

These were unique names!

"Great names you've all suggested!" Tom said. "I'll say the name of the Island that you've suggested, and then we'll vote on the one you think is the best by clapping. The name with most claps gets to be named!" Tom declared.

"Let's start off with Simi's suggestion, Evergreen!"

Cherry, Poncho, Timmy and Tommy all clapped! They really liked the name!

"Woah! Evergreen got a positive response! Everyone here clapped!" Tom remarked.

"I suppose if everyone's in agreement... We could just go with Evergreen!"

"Ab-solutely!" Poncho yelled.

"It rocks!" Cherry yelled.

"OK!" Timmy yelled.

"Sounds good!" Tommy yelled.

"Splendid!" Tom exclaimed.

"From now on, This Island will be known as Evergreen!"

We all cheered. This is amazing!

Tommy handed out fruit drinks to us in cute little glass cups.

"Does everyone have a drink?" Tom asked.

"Well, without further ado, a toast! To Evergreen and the happiness of it's villagers!" Tom cheered.

We clunk our glasses and drank our cherry drinks at the same time.

"CHEERS!" We all exclaimed.

We all sat around the campfire.

"Woah! It feels like I'm on vacation... but we actually get to LIVE here, li'l bear!" Poncho chimed.

"Evergreen.. Yup, this is gonna be rad, what-what!" Cherry gushed.

Tommy approached me.

"Simi! You did a great job choosing the Island name! We'll let this campfire burn for the rest of the night. Feel free to rest in your tent if you start to feel tired." Tommy stated. "Ah, before you do that, Talk to Mr. Nook! There's something he'd like to give you!"

I walked up to Tom.

"Ah, Simi. Having a good time, yes?"I know this is all a bit much, so if you feel like taking a short nap in your tent, by all means, go ahead!" He implied.

"Yeah, I am pretty tired. I'll go do that." I responded.

"Sounds good to me! But first, You'd probably want this." He handed me a camping cot to sleep in. "Put this in your tent so you can go to sleep comfortably. Oh, and there are a few packages waiting in your tent, hm? Just a few items that might be useful." He added.

"We've got a big day ahead of us tomorrow, so rest up as much as you can tonight".

I thanked him and said goodnight to everyone.
