As I worked on my Biology lab analysis for Mrs. Finch, I couldn't help but get distracted by one of my old favorite labs I took two years ago."Okay, now stir in the iron filings," Mason instructs Corey across from me.
"How is this supposed to work?" Corey asks confused.
"The ferromagnetic properties are gonna interact with..." I begin to explain only to look up and see a bunch of confused teenagers staring right back at me. Let me not.
"Don't worry, it works," Mason chuckles. "Just make sure that all the iron oxide is completely absorbed."
I see the ingredients melt into the canister.
"This was such a cool lab when we did it," I smiled thinking back to the summer after 8th grade.
"So then you don't need to be here," Corey suggest. I tilt my head not sure if he was trying to be rude or funny.
"How come you're here if you already know this?" He asks turning to Mason.
One of the other students scoffs.
"Know it? He's practically teaching it."
I look back at Mason who blushed in his seat, and looked uncomfortable.
"Well, this is, uh, my favorite physics lab," he explains.
"We're all here for the extra credit," Corey excuses. "I mean, don't you have, like, a four point something?"
"Four point nine," Mason shrugs causing Corey to freak out. "But Amanda has a 5.0?"
"Is it like a Dracula thing?" Corey asks a bit too harshly for my liking. It then dawned on me that for one he didn't like me after what Scott did to him to help him remember his memories, nor did he help us when we saved Mason.
He didn't particularly like Scott and Liam didn't care for Corey too much either. I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, but...
"No it's called having a brain and using it," I sass back. "Try it sometime."
Even though it was a vampire thing. But he didn't have to know that.
"I'll see you later Mase," I excuse myself packing up my laptop and walk out.
As I head outside, I see in the distance my two favorite boys. Practicing, of course. Seeing them practice made me miss lacrosse.
I remember this one time when Scott and... Liam? No. I'm thinking back to when I was ten, why would it be Liam? No, Amanda remember, it was when you were ten you and Scott just learned how to perfect your back shots.
But someone really sucked at those. And I remember that day because Scott was hit in the face by...me? It wasn't me, it was-
I was pulled from my thoughts when I heard shouting and the sound of distress. Mason.
"Liam!" I yelled out to the field. The two boys were already running towards me, making me turn around and head towards the sound of Mason.
The three of us run to where the entrance of the library was, getting greeted by Mason and Corey who held up a chair and fire extinguisher up in defense.
They bring the make shift weapons down seeing it's just us.
"They were here," Mason breathes out through fits of pants. "The Ghost Riders."
"Here? Just now?" Liam questions.
"I thought they left when the storm left," Scott spoke up.
"I guess not, because two of them were right up there," Mason said pointing up to the 2nd floor. "We didn't see when they came in, we only saw them when we turned invisible."
