I tossed and turned a lot in my sleep. I had a nightmare that I was sold to a group of old, drunk hobos. And they did such horrible things to me in my dream. I woke up with sweat dripping down my face. A chill went down my spine when I thought about that dream again. A strong smell of rosy perfume wafted in the air as I wonder why nanny would spray perfume in my room when she knew I hated it.
I rub my arms and shake my head as I tried to get out of bed.
But then I realize that the cover was extremely thin. It felt velvety and soft. I raise an eyebrow towards the pink pillow next to me. It had a silk covering that gleamed as sunshine from the window poured down. Also... what happened to the curtains?! They were a gold color, with pink roses labeled on the sides. Had my Nanny changed my whole room overnight?!
I quickly get out of bed and an oval shaped mirror, with see through scarves draping over it was facing me. I screamed when I saw my reflection.
"W-what happened to my hair?! And my eyes?! Who is this?"
As soon as I screamed, an old woman with a tight bun, wearing a black outfit, slammed the door open as she rushed to me. For a feeble old woman, she was pretty strong, I decided. But that was not the point. I looked like a medieval foreign princess! The old woman got down on her knees when she got close to me. She sobbed and wailed, but I don't know what I'm supposed to do.
"M-my lady! At last, you are awake, my lady!" She wailed. I crouched down to help her. She looked at my face, and had a shocked expression. She got up and started leading me to my bed. I was so confused on what was going on. Was someone playing a prank on me? Was it dad?
No. It couldn't be my workaholic dad. The woman patted my hands and asked me,
"My lady. Are you sure you're okay?..."
with a half smile, I nodded slowly and said,
"S-sorry?..."
