He held up a card. An invitation card, from the looks of it.
I raise an eyebrow.
"That is?.."Lucas folds his arms, a flicker of excitement flaring in his eyes. He speaks, his lips, opulent with the shimmer of glossy black lipstick, parting to speak,
"An invitation to a party. Can my lady guess the inviter?"
I look into his eyes, sensing nothing but menacing ecstasy.
What is he insinuating?
As I was in deep cogitation, a sudden thought hits me.
Flora's 16th birthday party!"Your highness, is it perhaps Lady Carrison's birthday invitation?..." I watch as his lush lips part once more, this time a smile, revealing his pearl white teeth, a scourging scene to my eyes, honestly. His eyes had widened at my answer. He looked elated. Psychotic, even.
"You guessed correctly, love."
A sudden knock shook us both.
Ah. The maids. Who had left me with this psychopath."Come in," I order, keeping my facial expression stringent. The maids come in at my command, their heads high only when examining the Prince's wounds. They commission carefully, hands shaking as they do so. A hint of fear in their expressions, they try best not to show.
It was funny, seeing all of my maids hovering over the undeserving snake, just to bandage up his exaggerated bruise.
I sit near the window, on a platinum built chair, intricate with the designs and symbols of my family. My father had gifted me this long before. My abandoned throne. My arms are crossed as I observe the ludicrous scene. I keep my facial expression neutral, trying to hide my annoyance.
Even as I look out the window, I can still tell it's there. His disgustingly divine smile, solitary for me, perhaps waiting for my response to his indicated plan.
