Prologue

"Ayanna!" My best friend Lilith called out to me as I slammed my locker door shut. I tucked a lock of my hair behind my ear and eyed my best friend as she stumbled towards me. My clumsy yet popular friend caught everyone's attention in the hallway. I rolled my eyes and heaved my heavy textbooks as I stared at miss perfect.
Lilith Park was a bubbly and smart girl who everyone was attracted to. Not only that, but she was extremely gorgeous. With thick platinum blonde locks and sapphire colored eyes, she was remarkably effortless. And surprisingly, she was MY best friend. And strange thing is, I don't even know why and how she's my best friend?
When she was the new kid, I was supposed to show her around the school. So I opened up to her a little. But she's never left my side since then. She outshines me when she's walking next to me, yet beauty is not her only specialty. I look at her now, as she waits with her arm out. I give her a weak smile and loop my arm with hers. She's kind of irresistible now.
Ah. And who am I? Normal. Just like any other highschool student. Probably the extra of a novel. You know, the one who's best friend is the main character. Lilith calls me a "tomboy." Well I guess I'm something like that. I'm not really popular though. Family relationships aren't well and I have nothing that catches people's attention.
"So! I finished the otome game, and I can't believe who she ends up with!"
If you're wondering what the heck she's talking about, it's the petty romance otome game. She's obsessed with romantic things, and it bugs me because I hate it. And she knows I hate it, but she needs to give me all of the deets about 'that one time he dragged her out of the ballroom and took her to the balcony'! Oh. You know what I'm talking about. Every cliche romance shit. That's what I'm talking about.
Although, because I'm a good friend, I try to listen to every word. I also TRY not to make an embarrassed face... most of the time, it's really hard though.
