The Earth rotated once more. The sun rose up bathing the city in its warm shine. The birds chirped melodiously filling the morning atmosphere with soothing music.
Y/N's eyes opened slowly as she turned and snuggled deeper into her blanket. Soon the sound of her phone interrupted her sleep. With a loud groan she searched for her phone.
The brightness of the screen made her squint her eyes. Noticing the caller ID, the corner of her lips couldn't help but turned upwards into a bright smile.
"Hello Cherry Good Morning."
His voice was raspy as he greeted her and she could hear him yawning and shuffling of the blanket.
"Morning Zaki."
She rolled to her side with a lovestruck expression as she heard his chuckle.
"Can't wait to see you today."
She hummed as she got up and let out a yawn before returning to the call.
"Want to have breakfast together?"
His lips curved into a wide smile and all the sleepiness instantly vanished.
"Of course my Cherry."
With a wide smile on their faces, both of them went to washroom to freshen up. They still couldn't believe that they were dating. They felt like they were on cloud nine.
The ring of the doorbell interrupted her happy thoughts while she was washing the pan for breakfast.
Opening the door, her face became as red as a cherry and soon, a shy smile appeared on her face.
"Hey Cherry."
"Hey Haizaki-san."
She tilted her head when she noticed his stare at her.
"What happened?"
Haizaki grabbed her hand while walking towards the table. He sat down at one chair while she took the next one.
"Yesterday, you called me Zaki. Now you're calling me Haizaki-san and I don't like it. Call me Zaki." He smiled at her while kissing the palm of her hands.
Her face heated up at his actions but soon a smile appeared on her face.
"Ok Zaki."
He ruffled her hair and pecked her forehead before gazing deeply into her grey eyes with love.
The sudden ring of the doorbell startled them. With a pout, she went to the door only to let out a loud squeal giving Haizaki a small heart attack.
"Mama!!!"
Haizaki could only stare at a woman with same black hair as his girlfriend and brown eyes which held nothing but kindness. He watched as she pecked her daughter's cheeks before ruffling her hair.
Soon, her gaze landed on him making him nervous. A wide smile appeared on her tired face as her eyes sparkled.
"Oh my! You must be Haizaki-kun, our neighbor!" She put down her bag before patting his head. He flashed her a nervous smile. Who wouldn't be nervous while meeting their girlfriend's mother all of a sudden.
"Yes I am. Akane Haizaki, nice to meet you ma'am."
"Oh My name is Sakura and don't be so formal. Call me Mama just like Y/N." Her words shocked him but he smile nonetheless.
"...... Sure..... Mama." The lady in front of him gave a soothing, kind and gentle vibe just a like a mother. She reminded him of his mother.
"Um.. Before anything I would like to tell you something." Y/N stopped working to listen to him. Her mother signalled him to continue. Taking a deep breathe, he asked.
"I am not just your neighbor, I am your daughter's boyfriend."
Hearing his words, a chuckled escape the older woman's lips whereas Y/N was as red as a peach.
"Oh dear. I am happy about that. I am sorry she can be clumsy sometimes." Haizaki chuckled which made his girlfriend whine at her mother.
The breakfast passed with Sakura occasionally asking about Haizaki which the latter answered diligently. The scene made Y/N's heart warm.
"Haizaki-kun, what about your parents?" Y/N felt him stiffen at her mother's question which the older woman also noticed. Finding the topic sensitive, the older woman flashed an apologetic smile. Soon, he relaxed and smiled.
"Oh it's okay... They are... not in this world anymore."
Y/N grabbed his hand entwining their fingers. Her mother gently ruffled his hair.
"I am sorry. Feel free to talk to me whenever you want. Think of me as your mother, although I know I can't replace her."
He sent her a grateful smile before nodding. Her mother glanced at the clock.
"Y/N it's time for school go get ready or you'll be late." Her mother reminded her and Haizaki could only watch as she disappeared into her room.
"Haizaki-kun..." Her mother started making the boy turn towards her.
"I know you love her and I know you are not like those boys who use girls for their benefits... Please don't break her heart. It hurted me when she came crying after her breakup with Tenka-kun."
Haizaki, understanding her concern, gave a warm smile before standing up.
"Don't worry Mama. I'll keep her happy."
Y/N soon returned and they got ready to leave for school.
"Bye Mama."
"Thank you again."
"Haizaki kun.. When you leave home in the morning you should say 'see you later'.."
His dark blue ocean eyes widened and he swore he saw an illusion of his mother smiling at him but it quickly disappeared. His lips twitched upwards forming a smile.
"See you later Mama."
On their way to rhe school, Haizaki noticed her being quiet which bugged him. He nudged her making her look at him.
"What happened?"
"Zaki.."
"Hmm?"
"You know I still can't believe that we are dating." She spoke with a fond smile.
"I know right?"
His eyes widened and he could only watch in confusion as she placed his hand on her cheek while her hand on his.
"Let's pinch on count of three."
"1..... 2...... 3!"
An instant pain struck their cheeks which turned red as they let go. Rubbing their swollen cheeks, they looked at each other before bursting out in laughter.
"...I love you Zaki" The look of love on her face made him blush at sudden confession. His eyes widened before a chuckle escaped his throat.
He entwined their hands before kissing her knuckles.
