Author pov. (Jaemin)

Jaemin hated that feeling.
Like he was in the way of his friend, keeping him from living his life. He didn't want a fricking birthday party in the first place and this was exactly why. Why the hell would Jeno cancel his date only to go to Jaemins birthday party. He wasn't worth it and sooner or later Jeno would realise that and regret throwing away his chance to go on a date with Yuqi.
Jeno was the reason why he decided to have a birthday party in the first place and now he won't even be there. He would love to tell Chenle to cut it, but he knows the boy has probably already invited all of their friends and he didn't want to disappoint them, so he just went with it.

"Hey Jaemin. Wait!"
Hearing that voice the said boy quickly turned his head to where the voice came from.
"Jesus, do you have to be somewhere or why are you running?"
Jaemin stayed quiet for a while. He didn't even notice he was walking this fast.

"Oh, hey Renjun.."

Renjun sighed deeply.
He really wasn't good at this, but well, I guess the blonde was worth it.

"H-Hey, are you okay?"
Jaemin immediately smiled at the others concern for him but didn't want to be a burden to him with his stupid problems.

"Y-Yeah, I'm fine."
But Renjun only looked at him, not really satisfied with that answer.
As he raised an eyebrow, Jaemin was the one who sighed.
"I'm not really.. thrilled for the birthday party."
"Then why are you throwing it?"
The older asked in confusion.
"Well, at first because of Jeno, but now he won't even be there, so it's useless. I would cancel it, but Chenle was so exited and already told everyone and.. I don't want to disappoint them."

To be honest. Renjun didn't get it. You don't want a party, you don't have one. It was as simple as that for him. But apparently not for Jaemin. And he knows, no matter what he would say, the other would still throw the party on his birthday, for his friends.

"Why don't we spend the rest of the day together. Skip school and go on.. on a date."
Here we go Jaemin thought, already feeling his face getting hotter and hotter by each second.
"I actually wanted to take you out next week, but today is fine I guess."
Jaemin really wanted to say no, so the other wouldn't skip class for him, but who was he kidding. Renjun probably skips 3 times a week anyways, so whatever right? It's his birthday, he wouldn't mind having fun on his birthday for once.

"Yeah. You know what, I would love that."
And with that said they made their way out of school.

Author pov. (Jeno)

Where the hell was Jaemin? The black haired male asked himself in annoyance.
At first he was worried, but then he noticed that Renjuns seat was empty as well, making him grow angry. Renjun was not a good influence on Jaemin. The younger had never skipped class before, and now that is the second time this week.
What the heck is it about Renjun anyways? What does he have that I- that makes him so great?
He is such a distant person. He barely speaks and he isn't even that good looking.
Well actually that's a lie, Jeno knows that Renjun ist very handsome, not as handsome as Jaemin but sill, though he'd rather not admit it.

Wait. What the hell am I doing?? Am I really comparing the looks of two guys?

Both of them had a tiny cup of ice cream in their hand but Renjun was not satisfied.
Jaemin didn't talk. At least not how Renjun wants him to. He doesn't bubble out everything he had done yesterday and he doesn't constantly smile and Renjun didn't like that.
