ELEVEN
MOONLIGHT PUSHED THROUGH, filtered by the branches of the trees the girl rushed beneath. Without stopping, she looked over her shoulder, watching as the terrain around her became unfamiliar. Nothing but cliffs, jagged rocks, and the scenic view of the lake to her right. She turned her attention back to the paved road, the dust kicking up behind her feet.
Her world turned upside down when she scraped her leg against an uprooted, dry bush. The rough bark drew marks on her skin, droplets of blood seeping through the thin cuts. She lost her balance, catching herself with her hands as she fell forward. Her palms rubbed against the small rocks, her knees hitting the floor, causing her to grit her teeth.
She looked to her left, immediately spotting a bush. Its overwhelming branches were capable of hiding her figure between them like an embrace; only, she imagined it wouldn't be so comfortable.
Ignoring the stinging pain, she dragged herself to its shade, letting out a deep breath as she positioned herself to face the lake.
It was quiet, except for the birds chirping nearby.
She heard the flap of their wings, almost as if startled by a sudden presence.
And (Y/n) felt it too. Someone was nearby.
She huddled against her legs, her arms wrapped around her knees with her chin resting against her wrists.
Sounds of shoes against the dirt became clearer, followed by a shadow elongated by the soft light cascading from the heavenly skies above.
A pair of dark boots came into view. The girl's eyes trailed up his pants, the decorative belts that hung from his dark hooded coat, the tanned poncho, all the way to the dark-rose colored eyes that were framed by the unkept mess of his grey hair.
"Blood...?" His voice was rough.
The girl held her breath, hoping he'd leave without spotting her amidst the leaves.
Her prayers were answered, the strange boy taking a look around before walking back from the direction he came from.
After what seemed to be forever, she allowed herself to take in a deep breath.
(Y/n) let out a sigh, only to be startled by the sudden sound of someone smelling her from behind.
She snapped her head over her shoulder, the stranger's gaze piercing right through her.
"You are hurt..." He said, his nose searching for anything else to mention. "Blood... there's blood."
The girl looked down at her legs, a few trickles of the iron smelling liquid beginning to reach her ankle.
"I help you...!" The boy exclaimed, not waiting for an answer.
Before she could protest, (Y/n) felt the strength in his arms as he hoisted her up, the twigs rustling as she left the harsh embrace of the bush, his hands supporting her back and legs.
She watched as the view of the lake grew smaller, the (h/c) locks of her hair trailing over his shoulder.

When he did set her down, it was inside a warm, fire-lit cavern. There were belongings scattered about. A few old, worn out blankets and rags strewn like bedding beneath her.
The boy tore what looked like bandages, and kneeling before her, he gently took her leg.
(Y/n) watched as he wrapped the strands around gently, careful not to hurt her. Once done, he retreated, straightening his stance as he peered down at her.
