SIXTY THREEXINGQIU KEPT STILL as his measurements were being taken. As second son of the Feiyun, it was important to keep a well maintained image and a wardrobe to aid in this endeavor. Though it wasn't a strict rule to abide by, Xingqiu would rather avoid having a "talk" with his parents about it. As frivolous as it was, he'd get it done without complaint.
The boy's eyes wandered around the room, his ears sore from the silent atmosphere that engulfed him completely. He watched from his peripheral vision as the tailor packed his items and bid him farewell.
Xingqiu stood there, basking in the peace and stillness. It was one of those moments where he had no reason to stay but chose to, all because his mind was lost to wander at the given chance.
But then, the door to the room opened. And in walked (Y/n), a bright smile on her face.
"Xingqiu," She greeted him, making her way towards him.
Xingqiu's eyes lit up with excitement at the sight of his friend. "(Y/n)! I'm so glad you're here," He stepped down from a stool, "I was starting to think I'd be stuck in this room all day."
Now standing next to him, (Y/n) chuckled. "Sorry I came without notice. I was nearby and thought to pay you a visit."
Xingqiu grinned at her, his eyes sparkling with gratitude. "That's really nice of you. But you don't have to apologize. I was just having my measurements taken. Nothing to be disturbed about."
(Y/n) raised an eyebrow, now looking at him with curiosity. "Oh really? Tell me more."
With a sigh, Xingqiu obliged. "Mother thought it'd be wise to add a new outfit to my collection for that trip to Qingce village I had invited you to," He explained, "Now I don't mind tolerating days like this if it means seeing her smile, but this attire has been in the planning for a long time now. I'm just grateful all that's left to do is actually put it together."
"Was that who that man was?" (Y/n) asked, "The one I passed by on my way here?"
Xingqiu nodded. "It was. He was here to make sure the numbers weren't wrong," He said, "Wouldn't want to receive it in the wrong size."
(Y/n)'s lips made an 'o'. "That makes sense."
Xingqiu then paused for a moment, thinking of something they could do together now that she was here. Then, an idea struck him.
"Why don't we take a stroll in my mother's garden?" He suggested, "It's quite beautiful this time of year."
(Y/n)'s eyes lit up at the suggestion, feeling a sense of excitement at the idea. "That sounds wonderful. I'd love to see it."

Xingqiu led (Y/n) through the winding paths of his mother's traditional garden, pointing out the various flowers and plants that lined the way. The air was thick with the sweet scent of blooming flowers, and the soft rustling of leaves provided a soothing background to their conversation.
"It's quite remarkable, isn't it?" Xingqiu said, gesturing to the garden around them, "My mother has put so much care and attention into maintaining it over the years. It's her pride and joy."
