FIFTY ONE

(Y/N) PEERED DOWN into the bowl in front of her. It was wide, filled with a brown batter that stuck to the walls and spoon she used to mix it with. All the while Razor watched closely from the sidelines, his eyes following the movement of the spoon moving the batter.

"Smells good," He said.

(Y/n) lifted the bowl over a nearby tin pan, letting the raw ingredients pour. "Well, I've had a lot of time to practice," She scraped the sides, trying to get all of it in. "And according to you, each batch comes out perfect." A smile crept onto her face.

The sound of the window in Venti's room suddenly burst open.

Razor immediately became alert, his eyes darting over to the hallway. But before he even said anything, (Y/n) gently placed a hand over his shoulder.

"It's just Venti," She assured him. "He has a bad habit of using the window as his personal door."

Razor side eyed the hall. With a sigh that escaped through his nose, he turned back around. His arms rested against the counter. A hand of his found its way to his left ear, where he then used two fingers to play with his earring.

"You are sad," He said out of the blue. "Razor knows."

Her movements slowly came to a stop, and her shoulders slumped a bit forward in defeat. She set the bowl down, both her palms pressed to the counter top.

"...Um," (Y/n) looked around as if she were thinking of the right words to say.

Then, she settled her gaze towards the glass pane ahead. "Aether had spoken to me a while back about something," She explained quietly. "And so I sent him on a little quest to Liyue."

Razor's eyes darted across her face as he listened intently, watching as her expressions changed phase with every word that came out.

After a brief silence, (Y/n) then met his eyes. "...I think I'm going back," She expressed honestly. "To the harbor, I mean."

The wolf boy didn't really get it at first. But when he repeated her words over again in his head, it loosened some things.

"Leave?" He slightly cocked his head to the side.

She nodded her head. "Yeah," Her eyes flickered elsewhere.

"Why?"

(Y/n) bit the inside of her lips.

Should she just tell him everything? It wasn't as if she didn't trust him. Hell, Razor was the one who found her at her worst and stayed by her side till she could stand on her own. She owed him. But perhaps that could be repaid in another form.

(Y/n) turned herself around, her back pressed against the counter. She crossed her arms, sticking her hands beneath her shoulders. "I'm not certain if I am..." She began. "But I'm just taking precautions. It doesn't hurt in case something bad happens."

Razor composed himself. He took a step closer, trying to get a better look at her face. "I help you," He reassured her. "Always keep you safe."

The woman slightly turned her head in his direction. "You've been worried about me, haven't you?" She asked. She even got the feeling he already knew something was amiss.

Taking the wolf boy's silence as a response, (Y/n) then continued. "Is that why you've been with me more lately?" She glanced up at him. "You're still taking care of me. Even when you don't need to..."

Somewhere nearby in another room, the bard played with a gust of wind, watching it twist and turn over the palm of his hand. He mindlessly stared at it with a rather bored look, not really thinking much other than how cool it was he could do such things with ease. It soon dispersed when he let his hand fall back onto his bed, his eyes staring straight at the ceiling.
