One night Patton and Logan decided to look at the constellations they had been chatting about for weeks. Their room's forms were very fluid, so it was easy to have Patton's room shift into a grassy hill with a lone oak tree. There was no light pollution, and the night air was pleasantly cool. The perfect night for stargazing.

Only a few minutes later they were both laying on their backs, facing the open air.

"Okay then, what's that one?" Patton asked from beside Logan as he pointed upwards at the sky.

"That is Canis Major"

"And that one?"

"Ophiuchus"

"How about that one over there?"

"That one is Telescopium."

"Aaaaaaand... that one over there?"

"Patton, that is Ursa Major, more commonly known as The Big Dipper. You pointed that one out already. Even so, you should be able to tell what it is by looking at it."

"I know, I just love listening to you talk about the stars." Patton replied, smiling and laughing infectiously.

"Fair enough," Logan said, smiling faintly as Patton continued to giggle to himself. As he quieted down, they spent a few more minutes watching the milky way soar miles above their heads into the lavishly colored indigo sky. Some stars would occasionally twinkle, giving the whole sky a subtle shimmery effect.

"This is nice," Patton commented quietly, resting his head against Logan's shoulder. "It's calm out here."

"I agree. It can be very relaxing to watch the stars."

A cool breeze whispered lightly through the grass. It swirled around them for a moment. And then it suddenly stopped. Everything was suddenly still, as if the life had been whisked way from it. It felt as if the world was hushing the ambience of the pair's surroundings for a single blissful moment.

And it was nice.

Another hour or two went by before Patton started to yawn. He looked tired. Logan didn't blame him. They had stayed up way past his usual bedtime, and it was starting to show.

Logan made to get up, but Patton pawed sleepily at his arm.

"Don't leave. I wanna talk more," Pat mumbled. He kept trying pull the other back down, even as his own eyes fought to stay open. Logan couldn't help but smile at the moral side.

"Patton, you're falling asleep. There's no point in trying to continue our conversation," Logan replied. But being physically unable to say no to Patton, he laid back down anyway, hugging the other to his chest. Patton yawned again and sighed contentedly.

Logan only noticed that Patton was asleep mere minutes later when he began to snore quietly. Logan was also starting to feel drowsy. Oh well. So much for going to bed.

Logan glanced down at Patton's sleeping face. He looked... relaxed. And happy. Seeing him look so serenely calm made Logan's heart ache, but in a good way. He loved being with and around Patton, much more that he could put to words. When Logan was with Patton, he never felt like he wasn't listened to. He never felt ignored or left out. He smiled affectionately at the man in his arms.

"I love you," he whispered, choking slightly on his words as a sudden flood of emotion threatened to silence his voice. He pressed a light kiss into the moral side's hair. Patton exhaled in his sleep and turned partly on his back.

He laid there listening to Patton's gentle
breathing until he too drifted off to sleep.

~~In The Morning~~

When Patton and Logan appeared in the Commons the next morning, everyone but Virgil was starting at them. Logan didn't take much notice until he heard Remus and Roman whispering to each other at the other end of the table.

"Why is everyone looking at us?" Patton asked curiously. Remus and Janus exchanged glances.

"You were both in Pat's room last night, were you not?" Roman questioned, keeping his face carefully blank.

"Yes, why?" Logan said impatiently, hoping that they weren't going to ask what he thought they were going to ask. Patton was nowhere near as innocent and clueless as everyone made him out to be, but he still didn't hold up well when asked those kinds of questions.

Remus grinned madly, and Logan immediately knew what he was planning on saying. So much for wishful thinking.

"So," Remus started, narrowing his eyes, "did you two fu-"

"No," Logan said, cutting him off. He didn't feel like suffering through a long and excruciating conversation. "We were stargazing. We fell asleep. Period."

"Ooh, you all should have joined us!" Patton interjected, eyes shining excitedly. "We saw Telescope!"

"Patton, it's Telescopium, not telescope."

"Oh. Oops. But whatever it's called, we saw it!" he said cheerfully.

Remus raised an eyebrow, obviously not believing either of them. It didn't matter. As long as he left his previous topic alone, Logan was fine.

"Eh. Whatever you say Dr. Jekyll reject." Remus said. He turned around and strode off, no doubt to try to find Remy. Those two were notorious troublemakers, separate or together.

Eventually the others lost interest and went off to do their own things. Only Logan and Patton were left. Patton suddenly pulled up a chair next to Logan, grinning from ear to ear.

"I'd like to do that again," he announced, beaming.
