Chapter 12 | Reality

Gon's Pov

Looking out the car window, at the dim sunset, turning into a nightsky, trying to ignore the pessimistic feeling of silence going throughout the car drive.

Giving each person in the car a quick glance—each would be looking at something opposite of each other's glances.

It makes me sad.

But

What did Killua mean by that?

"I DON'T NEED ANYONE BUT YOU!"

The same line on repeat in my mind.

I'll just ignore it, Killua did get annoyed suddenly right after saying it. I'll give him that space—but I have the urge to beg him for what he meant

We finally arrive at Killua's house at about 6 o clock.

"I think I should get a ride back to my house...Don't wanna bother anyone tonight!" I smiled rubbing the back of my neck.

"What do you mean" Killua says turning his head towards me.

"After earlier in the woods, I decided I wanted to give you some space." I wave my hands, gesturing I'm fine.

I then felt a sudden flick onto my forehead

"Idiot! I'm not letting you go back alone after today's conflict with you at your campus" he furrows his eyebrows.

I blush slightly.

I rub the spot Killua flicked me at, trying to get rid of the pain.

The car door opens, being greeted by Leorio gesturing for us to get out. Killua shoves me, but holds me at the same time getting me out the car.

He then waved Leorio off and waved Kurapika.

The car takes off and we started walking on the road entrance, up the hill to Killua's mansion.

"Hey killua? Have you noticed how kurapika and Leorio..were distant?" I glance at my side to Killua's side profile, but his eyes were turned to me.

"Just leave them, yea they were distant, but Kurapika is smart enough and has reasons for moments like that" he puts his hands in his pocket

The atmosphere around us got heavy and I decided to not continue the conversation. Remembering what happened earlier.

We get up to the front door, greeted by a few security , then opened it—to the warmth of the house and the sound of the waterfall hallway in front of us.

I look around again still in amazement of the interior of this mansion knowing this is only the front of it.

I saw Killua taking off his sweatshirt and walking over to the hallway. Lost in thought I just stared him, looking over his features. Why am I checking him out? Why now?

"You coming?" I came back to reality after that, seeing killua standing in front of the hall waiting for me.

"Ah..yeah I'm coming!" I start walking over chuckling off the embarrassing check-out session.

We walk quietly down the hall, myself glancing at various things and water fall falling down quietly.

We get passed it and Killua starts up a conversation.

"I'm..sorry again for that sudden sentence that came out my mouth earlier...during the woods I mean." He rubbed the back of his neck and his orbs directed towards me.

I guide mine at him, reworking each word he said in my mind. "Oh! No it's fine killua! It was most likely a joke right?" I giggled but stopped once killua's lips formed a frown and his lids closed slightly
