Looking out the window, a few desks away from her own,  Y/N saw the grey clouds engulf the sky. The class room had felt so much more smaller than usual today for some weird reason. In fact, the whole school just felt suffocating.
Maybe it was the thickness of the air that made it hard to breath or maybe it is the noise of the rain was bothering her.

Tap. Tap. Tap.

It felt like something was tapping her head a thousand times at once.

Or maybe it was the quiet whispering that was echoing in her head  that was bothering her. The whispers in the hallways as she passed, the judgemental  looks of the students haunted her since it had happened this morning. The way their eyes widened at the sight of her, probably irking at  her hijab, some even  snickered and mumbled 'terrorist' under their breath. Y/N could feel the hatred emit from them.

Another terrorist attacked had happened and fingers were pointed at Muslims, yet again. Those words just always had to be in the same sentence. The damage that extremists had done, those who were throwing dirt onto Islam with their horrible actions, were blamed on the innocent Muslims whom lived peaceful lives - they were the ones who had to take on the prejudice, once again.

And Y/N was among those innocent, she always wanted people to know that those using her religion like that were not a part of it, because killing innocent people is one of the biggest sins in Islam.

It's not like she could hide herself from the world no matter how much she wanted to, Y/N knew that wasn't possible because she stood out like a sore thumb. But even if her hijab made her an easy target, she was till proud to wear one.

Having to wear a hijab created challenges everyday but it was something that she had chose to comply with no matter how hard it was. But that didn't mean she hadn't dreamed of being able to walk through a crowd of people and not be started at. Hell, the recent events had her thinking that she  did not want to be associated with her own religion because of the misrepresentation and demonization of it in the media.

Y/N scowled at herself for thinking such things, it wasn't the religion that was to blame. No, it was the people that slandered it.

On outside she tried to be unfazed by the remarks the whole day, it just wasn't working.

She would be lying if she said those comments didn't hurt.

Y/N sighed, sitting alone with her thoughts were downright depressing. Maybe she shouldn't have pushed her friends away today, she could really talk to someone right now.
