The Kybuck Clan Volume VI (RWBY X Star Wars)

Chapter Six - Alone In The Woods

As the morning rose, the Kybuck Clan along with Team RWBY, Qrow, Oscar and Maria meet outside the farm. It was clear to the Jedi that Team RWBY were on their last legs. Katooni could sense that everyone had their doubts about their mission. Soon enough, Weiss spoke. 

Weiss: Last night, I...I couldn't stop thinking - why are we even going to Atlas?

Ruby: Weiss, we have to.

Yang: Why? Ozpin hid the Relics behind giant doors under enormous schools, but...how long would it take Salem to find a Lamp in the middle of nowhere?

Ruby: What? The Grimm might....

Yang: They'd find it eventually, sure, but bury it or just throw it down the well, it would take years. It might not even happen in our lifetime. But we could be done with it now.

Katooni: Nothing ever stays hidden for long, Yang. Even if Salem doesn't find it, Darth Jadus will. And if he gets his hands on the Relic, then we're all in danger. 

Blake: Salem's immortal. Darth Jadus isn't. He can be killed. She can't. 

Zatt: But you all saw what he was capable of. The power of the Dark Side is not to be messed with. We can't take that risk. 

Ganodi: We have to see this mission to the end. 

Ruby looked upon the Relic with conflicting emotions. A part of her was tempted to drop the Relic down the well. As she looks down the well, she sees a pair of red eyes staring back at her. In a moment of panic, Ruby drops the Relic down the well. 

Ruby: No! No! No! I didn't mean to!

Petro: Don't worry. We'll go get it. 

Weiss: Maybe it's for the best that we leave it here. 

Katooni: We can't, Weiss. There's too much at stake. 

Yang: Hey, it's okay sis. You just said you're tired. It's probably nothing. Now let's go.

Ruby: What's wrong with you?! We can't just leave, we have to go down there! We have to get the Lamp back! Oh, what was I thinking?!

Huyang: Fret not, Miss Rose! We'll find the Lamp and continue our journey!

Petro: I'm going down there. If any of you want to leave, now's the time. But know that if it all goes to hell, you got no one to blame but yourselves. 

Petro's words struck a chord within the other members of Team RWBY. Ruby followed the Kybuck Clan down into the well to retrieve the Relic. Feeling a sense of guilt and shame, the rest of Team RWBY followed. As they descend into the well, they find a vast underground waterway. The Jedi use their Lightsabers to light the way.

Yang: Maybe the current carried it away.

As they continue to search the well, the Jedi decided to deactivate their Lightsabers so that the blue glow of the Relic becomes visible. Once they find it, Ruby runs over to grab it. As she retrieves it, she spots multiple humanoid-looking Grimm of different sizes are bunched together. It wasn't long before everyone spots them. 

Katooni: Get the Lamp out of here! We'll hold them off! 

Ruby: We won't.....

Petro: Just get out of here! We'll be right behind you!

As Team RWBY runs off with the Relic, the Jedi begin cutting down the Grimm with their Lightsabers. As they do so, the Grimm let out an ear piercing scream which seems to drain their willpower. 

Katooni: My Lightsaber....feels heavy...

Petro: What the hell....are we doing? 

Despite suffering from the effects of the Grimm, the Kybuck Clan continue cutting through the horde of Grimm. Suddenly, Maria appears. 

Maria: Run! Now!

Left with no choice, the Kybuck Clan began running for the exit. However, another group of Grimm block the path. Katooni looks around to see another path. 

Katooni: This way!

As the Jedi continue to run, Byph falls to his knees. 

Byph: I....I can't.....

Petro: Now's not the time to give up! We need to get out of here now! 

Petro grabs Byph and the two keep running. It wasn't long before they caught up with Team RWBY. Suddenly, Katooni was ambushed by the Grimm. Seeing Katooni in extreme danger, Ruby's eyes began to glow. With words from Maria, Ruby was able to focus her power on the Grimm, disintegrating them. With that, they eventually reached the house. Petro and Gungi then push a bookshelf on the entrance to the cellar. 

Petro: Everyone out of the house! 

With that, everyone exited the house. Knowing the Grimm would keep coming, Weiss grabs a few of the alcoholic bottles from the shelves and throws them towards the basement, shattering them. Using his Shatterpoint ability, Petro pinpointed the weakness and threw his Lightsaber at a specific point where the alcohol was. As he does so, a fire was started which spread to the entire house. As the fire consumed the house, everyone took a moment to catch their breath. 

Petro: What were those things?!

Maria: The Apathy. They're not strong or ferocious. They drain your will to go on. 

Weiss: I'm...sorry for what I said...about giving up.

Yang: Me too. We can't quit until the lamp is safe.

Blake: It's not your fault. It was those...things.

As Ruby began to question Maria about her knowledge about the powers of her Sliver Eyes, Katooni couldn't help but feel a dark presence looming nearby. Suddenly, a lone Apathy prepares to ambush the group. However, the Apathy was cut in half by what appeared to be a crimson Lightsaber. Before they could react, a hooded figure stood before them with a red Lightsaber in his hand. 

???: Finally we meet. 

In that moment, the group was approached by a dark and menacing figure. Whether he was friend or foe was yet to be determined.
