Chapter Seven - A Dark Ally

As the hooded figure stood before the Kybuck Clan and Team RWBY, everyone prepared for a fight. Katooni could sense the Dark Side within him. The man then removes his hood, revealing a Pureblood Sith with dark red skin and red eyes. He cast his eyes on Katooni.

???: What a mystery the Force can be. I came here seeking a powerful Jedi, yet I find you here. It matters not. The time draws near. 

Katooni: Who are you? 

???: I am Lord Scourge. I am Sith. 

Upon hearing this, the Jedi drew their Lightsabers while Team RWBY along with Qrow readied their weapons. However, Scourge simply deactivated his Lightsaber and hooked it to his belt. 

Scourge: If I wished to fight, we would not be having this conversation nor would I have killed this Grimm. I could've killed you all had I wanted. Yet I make no such move. I have waited thousands of years to see the face that came to me in my visions. Your face. 

Katooni: What are you talking about? 

Scourge: Dark days are coming, Katooni. You know what is coming. 

Petro: You mean Jadus?

Scourge: No, but his arrival presents several complications. This planet was once his prison. He was sentenced to eternal imprisonment by Carbonite until someone released him. 

As Scourge revealed this, Yang recalled how she wanted to leave the Relic of Knowledge here, confident that it would never be found. Hearing that Darth Jadus was imprisoned for thousands of years until he was released made Yang realize the flaws of her plan. 

Ruby: What about Salem?

Scourge: Salem is but a pawn in a much larger game. Whether she knows it or not, she has been manipulated. You know what I refer to. 

At that point, everyone recalled Salem being manipulated by the voice of the Mother in Jinn's story. 

Katooni: What does this have to do with me? With us?

Scourge: Everything that has transpired here has been under the guidance of the Mother. To what extent I cannot say. Salem and Darth Jadus present a clear threat to you. 

Blake: But we can't kill Salem. 

Scourge: I once served as the personal executioner to the most powerful being in the Galaxy. He considered himself immortal. He would be proven wrong. However, the secrets of Salem's immortality elude me. That is why we are here now. I pledge my loyalty to you, Katooni. I will guide you to your destiny and help you destroy Salem and Darth Jadus. 

As the Sith Lord swore his loyalty to Katooni, everyone was in a state of shock. However, some were most were hesitant to trust the Sith Lord. 

Yang: We're not seriously considering this?! This guy's clearly full of it!

Petro: I'm with Yang. I don't trust him.

Scourge: I seek to end this threat as you do. What you don't realize is that if this threat is left unchecked, it threatens to consume the entire Galaxy. No living being will be safe from what is coming. Without my help, your efforts here are doomed to fail. 

As Scourge said this, Katooni was conflicted. Scourge was a Sith Lord and the Sith are the eternal enemies of the Jedi. Yet despite this, Scourge showed no sign of hatred towards them. Katooni thought of the threat that was ahead of them. The alliance between Salem and Darth Jadus threatened Remnant. Not only that, but the mystery of the Mother deeply troubled her. In Scourge, Katooni saw a dark ally that could help her and her friends in the fight ahead. 

Katooni: All right, Scourge. I accept your help. 

Scourge: You have made the wise choice, Katooni. I thank you for your trust. 

As Katooni accepted Scourge's offer, everyone including the Kybuck Clan were shocked. 

Yang: What happened to all that talk about how dangerous the Sith were? 

Katooni: I don't like this either, but it's clear the Force brought us together for a reason. He can help us. 

Scourge: Make no mistake, I am Sith. I will always be Sith. But that doesn't mean we can't work together. Time is a luxury we no longer possess. We must not linger here. 

Ruby: And where exactly are we going? We need to get the Relic to Atlas. 

Scourge: Your destination remains the same. 

With that, Scourge had joined the group despite their hesitation. They soon began the journey to Argus when they learned that Jaune and his allies were staying there after escorting the passengers from the Argus Limited. On the way there, Maria revealed that she used to be a Silver Eyed Warrior known as the Grimm Reaper until she lost her eyes to the assassin Tock. She then took Ruby on as a student to help her train in using her Silver Eyed powers. After a long trip, they reached Argus. 

Yang: Ladies and gentlemen, we have arrived in Argus.

Scourge: There is a possibility that Darth Jadus has agents placed within this city. We must be cautious. 

Petro: We'll keep that in mind. Just....don't get any funny ideas, okay?

Scourge: If I wanted to kill you, I would've done so already. 

Katooni: It's okay, Petro. We can trust him....for now. 

Petro was hesitant to trust Lord Scourge. However, he trusted Katooni's judgement. Through the will of the Force, the Kybuck Clan as well as Ruby's group gained a dark ally in the form of Lord Scourge.
