Melanie's POV

"Are you and Marco still together?" Lisa asked me
"Yes... Why?" I said confused
"It's just that you and Erik had spend so much time together-" I interrupted her
"We are not a couple! He just follows me around everywhere I go!" I said angrily
"Geez, calm down, Mel. I was just asking because Thomas was curious. Well, everyone is"
"Really? That's what everyone is talking about?"
"Yeah... Sorry to touch the subject"
"It's okay, Lis"
"Cool, do you think the boys will win the world cup?" She said excited
"Maybe! Mats is doing so well! Did you see him on training?" I said as a proud sister
"Actually not. I didn't see any trainings, yet."
"Ohh, that's right. Well, Thomas is doing really good, also! They all are!"
"That's awesome! But I have a question"
"Go ahead"
"Does Marco know that you and Erik are spending that much time together?"
"Sort of. But, it's not like I'm cheating on him or something"
"I know but I think you should tell him everything, before the press write about it"
"You are right. Thanks" I said decided to tell Marco "but I still don't think is that big of a deal"
"Call him now, and tell him, Mel"
"Okay" I said grabbing my phone and calling Marco's number
"Hi, Mel. Is something wrong?" He said with a sleepy voice
"Hey. Did I wake you up?" I said a little embarrested
"It's late here... But it's fine. What's up?"
"Do you remember that I told you Erik was following everywhere I go and that I would talk to him about it?"
"Yes..."
"Well, I talked to him. However, he said that if I kissed him ge would stop annoying me"
Marco was silent for a moment but then said: "did you do it??"
"Of course not! I said that you and I were dating and I would not do it. He could annoy me as much as he wants"
"So what's the problem?"
"I just wanted to tell you what's happening. Because if the press write something about Erik and I, you can be sure that is all lies"
"Okay, babe. I got to go, tomorrow I have a long day. Have fun in Brazil, sleep well"
"Danke, to you too. Ich liebe dich, Marco"
"Love you too"

The next day I woke up and went to Mats room. I knocked the door and Mario opened it.
"Hi, is my brother here?" I asked him
"No, he woke up early and went for a walk. He is probably getting back anytime soon. You can wait here, if you want to..."
"Thanks, but I will search for him a little more. Good luck tonight!"
"Danke" he said smiling and closung the door
I then went outside and saw Mats seating on a bench. I walked towards him and sat by his side.
"Hi" he said
"Hey, wie geht's?"
"I'm good, danke. You?"
"Gut, thanks. Are you excited for tonight?"
"I don't know if we trained enough... If we are better than them. Brazil went really well."
"You are not playing against them. You are playing against the US. It shouldn't be difficult, you guys trained really hard. And you are more than prepared"
"Do you think so?"
"Ja! I'm telling everyone that! I'm really proud of you, Mats. And I always will be"
"Thanks, Mel. You're pretty nice"
"Aw, thanks. I try" I laughed
"I should get going. Löw said that we should rest until the match, so we can give our best at night" he said standing up
"Okay, I'll talk to you before the game!"
"Yes, see you" he said kissing my forehead "Try to get away from trouble" he said laughing and walking away. I tried to laugh but I was too worried to do so. By trouble I know he meant Erik. He was kind of weird, usually he would be serious about boys wanting to date me. It was always like this. When I started to date Marco he interrogated him and scared him a little bit. He can sometimes be a little over protective and sometimes don't care at all. So, I think he probably thinks that Erik will do nothing to me. Which makes me feel a little more safe, to be honest. But I have to admit that I wish Marco were here. Right now. Hugging me. Talking to me. Making here a safer place. Or maybe Mats is just too worried about tonight's match to worry about a little thing like this. I don't really know.
