Chapter 10

I woke up about an hour later and only Ethan, J.J., and Amali were in the main room. "Hey where are the others?" "They are exploring the forest." J.J. said "Oh...really? With those spiders!" "They are going to be fine. They're tough." "Yea their fine." I said sitting next to Ethan on the couch. "Hey how have you been feeling?" Ethan said. I looked over at him. His purple eyes are dark. "I'm feeling fine." I responded. I felt uncomfortable in eye contact. So I looked away. I felt him put his arm over my shoulder. I could feel him still staring at me. "I'm going to go to the bathroom." I said standing up and speed walking to the bathroom. I closed the door behind me and heard mumbling from the other room. "Hey you could tell she was uncomfortable, why did you stare at her?" J.J. said. "What... I can't help it." "Uh yes you can. Also you just met her." "So?" "So, you should leave her alone." "Uuug...fine." They went silent. I remember his eyes. They were creepy. A knock on the door made me jump. "Hey it's me J.J. he is gone. You can come out." I opened the door. I just noticed how tall she was. She was about Liam's height. She walked back to the main area. And sat on the couch. She patted the couch and Amali sat next to her. "Sit here Dia." She said. "What?" "He gave you a nickname. Come on and sit here Dia." I sat beside her. She turned the TV back on. After a while the others rushed back in. They were really dirty and worn out. They were holding the door closed. "Hey! What's happening!" "Some kind of giant bobcat is trying to get in!" Kori said. The scratching stopped and they calmed down. She locked the door and put a chair in front of it. "There. Are. So. Many. Creatures!" Griffin managed to mutter out clearly exhausted. After they all cleaned up. Ethan walked back out of his cave. "Hey guys, you're back already?" He said. He kinda sounded annoyed. He sat down on the floor below me. I pulled up my feet into a crisscross. "Hey do you mind if I sit by Nadia?" Liam said. J.J. scooted over and he sat next to me. I felt a bit more comfortable now that he was sitting beside me. *I really don't feel comfortable around Ethan... -yea I don't like him either...- yea... I feel weirdly comfortable around Liam. -maybe cause you like him- what! No! Why would I like him...* I look at the clock and it's 11:36. "Uh it's really late..." I said to Liam. "Oh. Do you wanna go to bed?" He said looking at me. I looked back at him. "Uh...yea I'm gonna go to bed." *-hey this isn't a staring contest-* Tento said pulling me out of my gaze. "Hey Ethan could you move so she can get up?" He stood up and watched me walk to my room. *he really is a creep* I thought closing and locking my door. *I wish he wouldn't stare -I don't have the best vibe off of him-* I lay in my bed and went to sleep. I opened my eyes and I was back in the forest. "What the...why am I here?" I said to myself. I heard a hissing noise. *uh oh it better not be those spiders again.* I thought. I begin to run away from the noise. The hissing was getting closer. I looked back and wished I didn't. There were so many chasing me. I looked back ahead of me and ran faster. After a long time of running they eventually stopped and just hissed. I wondered why they stopped. I looked around to find I was standing in front of a large dark cave. I looked back at where the spiders were. They were gone. I looked back at the cave and was met with cold black eyes of a giant beast. It had brown fur and white sticky stripes down its back. I stood still paralyzed in fear. I was walking around me sniffing and looking at me. It raised its paw and slammed it down. I jumped out of the way and began to run again. But I was running into the cave. It blocked me off from running back to the forest. When I stepped into the shadows of the cave I fell. It was dark... was I under water? No. I could breath... what was this strange feeling... "oof!" I fell into a hard ground. I stood up and looked around. "Is this my mind?.. Tento are you t-testing me?" I shouted for him but there was no answer. I walked around for what felt like hours. I called out for anyone. Other than Ethan... but I was lost somewhere dark... and alone. I heard footsteps suddenly approaching fast. I couldn't tell where they came from. I saw a figure push me against a wall. I closed my eyes. "Open your eyes!" The figure commanded. I opened my eyes. I looked around. I was on the street and felt a terrible feeling of de'sha vu. I looked down to the right and saw... her. My best friend... she was on the ground in a puddle of blood. The figure let me go and ran off with his buddy. I fell into my knees in front of her. "H-h-hey don't d-do this t-to me again..." I said through my tears. She struggles to open her eyes and looked at me through her own tears. "L-listen...y-y-you live y- *cough* your life... w-without me..." "no! I can't!.." "I...I know it's h-hard..." "please don't leave me..." she didn't say anything after that. The closed her eyes and her body fell limp. I start to breath faster. "No...no!.. NO! You can't leave me!" I yelled and screamed and cried. I bent over and closed my eyes. Not wanting to see her in that state. We had been the best of friends since we were eight. We have known each other for ten years. I opened my eyes again. I was back in the black abyss. I stood up. Staring into nothingness. "Nadia..." I heard a faint voice. "Hello?" "Nadia!" The voice was louder. It sounded like Tento. "Tento?" "Yes it's me!.. can you see me?" "No." "Listen you're in a nightmare..." "yea no shit..." I said to myself. "You have to calm down..." his voice was pushed out my whispers in my head. I covered my ears hoping it would silence them. Things like. 'You are useless' 'you can't help anyone' 'don't try just to fail' and a lot more. I felt two hands on my shoulders. I look up and Tento is standing in front of me. I could see his mouth moving but I could only hear the islets in my head. "I can't h-hear you.." I said out loud. He wasn't talking anymore. He bent down on his knees and hugged me. His warm embrace made me feel a bit safer. The whispers in my head slowly became quiet. I looked up at him. "Am I a bother?" I said quietly. My throat hurt from screaming. "No, of course you're not." "Why am I like this.." "you just have more problems than most." He said. I hugged him back grasping onto his shirt. "Ya know I never had any siblings..." I said quietly. "I...think...this is what having an older brother feels like..." I added. He grasped me tighter. *Did I say something wrong?* I thought. "You said nothing wrong.." he said. It sounded like he was crying himself. I looked up and he was crying. "Are you okay?" I said. "Yea...you just remind me of my little sister." "Oh." We were both silent. I don't know how but we just stayed there for an hour. "Your dreams are different from your mind... in your dreams real life moves faster. An hour here is 7 hours in the real world. He let me go. "You should go now..." I nod closing my eyes. One final year running down my cheek. I opened my eyes and looked at the clock on the table next to my bed. It was about 5:30 AM. "Uuug" I stood on my bed and jumped off. Still half asleep I walked to the main room and fell onto the couch. "Why did this have to happen to meeeee?" I stood back up and walked back to my bed. Suddenly there was a loud scratching at the door. "What is that?" I said to myself. I hear a few people run to the door. I walk out to the main room and see Kori, Blaze, Liam, and Ethan holding the door closed. "What's happening?" "That thing is trying to get in again!" Kori said. I walk over to them and help keep the door closed. It was rough. Eventually it gave up. "How big is that thing?" I said, I was still tired. "It's three times the size of this door." Blaze said. I blinked a few times. "We should go look for human life." Liam said. "How do you know that there is human life?" I questioned. "Well, in every galaxy there is an elemental somewhere. By that I mean we all come from different Galaxies. We all had to leave our homes to try to save another... Or... find a cure... to thies invading aliens. This is earth in a different galaxy." It was silent. "We must find the next elemental... the more the aliens infect... the more powerful they get." Blaze said
