Chapter 9

After a month or so of being there I got really good at handling my lighting powers. I also became verry close with the spirit and everyone else. I found out that J.J. is in a relationship with Amali. They are really cute together. One day I was playing a game on the TV with Blaze and Kori tapped my shoulder. "Hey I think it's time..." Blaze paused the game. "Really?" Blaze said. "Yes she has come so far so fast. I think it is time." She said. "Uh excuse me ready for what?" I said confused. "Nadia...do you want to go outside?" I blinked in disbelief. "Outside? I guess I'm ready" I said. Liam walks into the room. "Hey, you okay?" I nod and stand up. "Now the world you grew up in might not be the same as you left it..."Liam said making sure I was okay. "I understand." We walked into the elevator. I felt the elevator start to go up. The suspense was killing me. Thoughts roamed my head. *what does it look like up there? I wonder what happened? What if- -hey don't overthink this- ok. Sorry, Tento* the elevator stops and the doors slowly slide open. We are in the middle of some kind of forest. Liam leads me out. Blaze and Kori follow close behind having summoned their weapons. Blaze has nunchucks and Kori has some kind of circular weapon with spikes on the outside of the weapon. We reach the edge of the forest where the city comes into view. "Listen...you may not be able to return home..." Liam said with his hand on my shoulder. The buildings had some kind of weird purple plant on it. Along with the floor. The vines were everywhere. "Try not to touch the vines." Kori said. "Ok." I said. Some kind of weird purple creature on all fours crawled out of the school in front of us. Purple goo slowly oozes off of it leaving prints where it had been. "Oh no...we need to go... before it sees us." Liam said. "Before that sees us?" I said as he pulled me back into the forest. The others followed. We heard some grouping and a bunch of footsteps. "Stop, don't move..." Blaze said. "They sense movement." We all stood still. I'm standing behind Liam. Blaze is standing back to back with Kori. Two of those creatures jump from the trees and roam around us. Sniffing. Looking. One of them looks at me. It's eyes are a dark red. These things look like they have no emotion. They are terrifying. It stares at me. Then it walks away with its friend. We wait for their footsteps to go away. "Now... go!" Blaze said, grabbing me and Kori. Liam follows behind. We all step into the elevator. We hear some weird loud gurgling. More footsteps coming closer. The doors of the elevator close slowly. One... two... five!..ten? There were so many. The elevator door closes. The creatures were clawing at the door. It was high pitched and it hurt my ears. *aah.. that hurts -are you okay Nadia?- yea I'm fine.* the elevator goes down. It comes to an abrupt stop. Liam struggles to open the door because it was banged up. "There is no use staying here anymore... we need to leave." Lia said. He looked sad. "Where are we going?" I said. "To...another galaxy that is unaffected by thies creatures." I had no words. *another galixy?.. is that even possible? -hey are you gonna be okay?- I...I don't know* I thought. "I'm sorry but we have to go." Blaze said. He walked over to a button on the wall. An alarm went off. It wasn't a wail like the last one. It was a bell. Everyone came out of their rooms. Blaze put his hand on his ear. "Ethan...we are evacuating. Get here now." The door behind us opened and in cam Ethan. "It's you!" He looked at me. "Oh it is you!" He smirked. "I knew you were special." He said ruffling my hair and walking up to the others who were standing in a circle. I waited while they chatted for a bit. They all ran to a weird room in the back. "Come here." Liam said, grabbing my hand and pulling me to the weird door. It was some kind of metal door. They all walked in and it looked almost like a spaceship. Liam put me in a seat in the back. Everyone sat in a seat and buckled up. "Linard galaxy set point." Griffin said as Blaze and Kori sat at the front pressing a bunch of buttons and leavers. The place started to shake and it felt like we were moving fast. The momentum scared me. But it came to a sudden stop. *everything's happening so fast...what. Why? -hey I'm gonna ask you to take a deep breath.-* I took a few deep breaths. "Hey are you feeling okay?" Liam said. I nodded. We all walked outside and back to the door to go outside. "Before you guys go out someone has to check oxygen levels." "I'll go. Like always." Ethan said. He walked out of the room. He came back into the room wearing a spacesuit. I held back a snicker. He looked ridiculous. He went outside. We waited about five minutes and he came back in without his helmet on. "The air is safe guys." He said with a smile. He went back to change back. Liam tapped my shoulder and gave me my sweatshirt back. Just then Ethan walked back out. He was wearing a blue sweatshirt and long jeans with holes at his knees. He had on black boots. "It's pretty muddy out so I would watch your step." He said walking back outside. We all followed him. It was a very heavy forest. We were in the middle of a clearing. I looked back at the base and it looked like a ship. It looked weird from the outside. I continued to follow the group into the forest. It kinda looked like the rainforest except the trees were a reddish color. And the ground was a dark yellow. The water was just a bright yellow. "This place is really funky." Blaze said. "Yea it looks weird." Amali added. I caught J.J. Grab Amali's hand. I smiled at the couple. It suddenly turned night. Like out of nowhere. "AAH!" Me and Amali screamed. "C'mon let's head home." Griffin said. About half way there we hear a weird hissing sound. We looked behind us and saw a bunch of giant spiders! A giant shiver went down my back. *I...hate spiders* thought as we all slowly back away as more slowly appeared out of the darkness. "Run!" Blaze yelled, having a head start. We all ran heading back to the base. Having not been that athletic I tripped on some vine on the ground. I tried to get up but something pushed me back down. I looked up and one of the spiders was on top of me. It's red glaring eyes stared me down. One piece of gooey sliver fell onto my face. I wiped it off as It screeched and attempted to bite me. Blaze shot a stream of flame pushing it back as Liam picked me up as we ran the rest of the way. We reached the base and we were all out of breath. Liam sat me down on the couch. He lifted the back of my sweatshirt and looked at my back. He sighed and sat next to me. "It's just a bruise in your back." He said. "Thanks for doing that guys.." I said. "No problem." Blaze said. Liam nodded. We heard clawing outside. We all jumped. The spiders were trying to get in. "Stubborn little shits." J.J. Said still holding onto Amalis' hand. "I'm going to meditate, see ya guys later." Ethan said walking to the meditation room. It had been an hour and the spiders finally gave up. "They're finally gone..." Gailen said sitting down on the floor. "Uh I'm gonna go meditate with Ethan." I said. I walked over to the meditation room. Ethan was in meditation so I was sure to be quiet. I sat down and emptied my head. I opened my eyes and Tento was standing in front of me. "Hey how is your back?" He asked. "It's a bit sore but it's fine. Do you know where we are?" "No I don't, I've never been here before." "Oh." "Yea I wanted to talk to you about being more athletic so... ya know... what happened doesn't happen again. Also you can train here. Time is different here. Then it is in the real world. An hour in here is a minute in there." "Oh that's interesting." "Yea it is. Now I'm going to show you how to wait for it..." he pauses. "How to what?" He doesn't say anything. "Well?" I said waiting for a response. "How... to summon your weapon!" he finally said. "Really?!" "Yup." He walks close to me. "Now I'm going to position you real quick." He said pulling my legs close together. "Stand up straight." He said. I stood up straight. He puts my arms in front of me. "Now I'll show you how to do it." He stands like I am. He puts his arms in front of him. "Now, because I'm the lighting spirit I don't need the key to summon my weapon." He puts his wrists together and slowly parts them leaving a golden parallel line. He grabs the middle of the line with both hands and appears with two katanas. He twists them around and puts them in the sword holders on his back. "Now try to mimic what I did." I put my wrist like he did and slowly parted. Gold sparks came out of my wrists. And it shocked me. "Ow!" "Try again." He said staring at my hands. I tried again and a line came out of my wrists but it broke half way. "Uh. Does that happen?" I said. "Yea it's normal. Try again." I tried again and I got to the length that it was supposed to be. "Now let it float and grab the middle as fast as you can. I grabbed for the middle and it disappeared before I reached it. "Almost! Try again." I tried and tried and tried. It had been at least 5 hours. "Uuug. I'm not fast enough." I said sitting down. "Maybe you should work on reflexes then." "Oh..how do I do that?" He smirked. "You will be fighting me." "What!" I said standing up. "Don't worry I won't touch you. I'll only swing fully if you dodge." I nodded. "Now get in this position. He get into a stance with his fists in front of his chest. I get into the same position. He throws a fist at my face and he stops. "Pay attention." I nod and look at him. He throws a left punch at me and I step to the side and swings his fist at the side of my head. He stops. "Try to learn my fighting style. As a fighter you should identify your opponents fighting style." "Ok." I swings with his right arm. I dodge. He sweeps his right leg and knocks me down. "I thought you said you weren't gonna touch me?" "Hahaha! Pay attention to every part of your opponent's possible weapons." He said helping me up. After another 5 hours of reflex training. I was exhausted. "Okay...I think I'm done." "Heh you have a lot of adrenaline going this long." "Yea..." "ya know. When you go back to the real world you won't feel exhausted. So you can get out of meditation and back in and be totally fine." "Wow. That's really cool!" I said laying on the ground. "Do you want me to go back now?" "Yea sure." I closed my eyes and opened them. Ethan wasn't in his spot anymore. I closed my eyes again and opened them back up. I was back. "Hey." He said as I stood up. He suddenly threw a punch at me and I dodged it. "Nice!" He said. I noticed his foot begin to move and he tried to sweep my feet but I jumped over it. "Wow! You're a fast learner!" He said getting in a fighting position. I followed and we spared for a bit longer. I threw a punch at his shoulder and landed a hit. "Ha! I got you!" I said. "Oh. Yes you did." He said landing a punch on my chest. "Hey!" "Ha! I landed a punch!" He said, mocking me. "Hey do you want to try the weapon again?" "Yea!" He stepped back a little bit. I stood up straight with my legs together. My wrists slowly parted leaving a gold line. I reached the length. I quickly grabbed the middle. And I was holding the katanas. "Yes!" I yelled. "Good job Nadia!" He said walking up to me. "Now...you need to learn how to fight with them...but we will save that for tomorrow!" "Oh...okay." "See ya tomorrow?" He said. "See you tomorrow." I responded. I closed my eyes. Then opened my eyes. I stood up and walked back into the main room. "Hey, what time is it?" I said walking over to the couch. "It's about... 1:40PM." Griffin said. "I'm gonna go to take a nap." I said walking to my room. "Goodnight." Everyone said. They had made me a room a while ago. The walls were a nice blue. My bed is white with lighting on the covers. My pillows looked the same. I had a tv in my room. There were parts lying around in my room because I loved to tinker sometimes. My floor was a light tan carpet. I got into my bed and went to take a short nap.
