After about an hour and a half of holding the whip it started to fade and get shorter. "Is that normal?" I asked. "Yea it's perfectly normal." Amali said. "You just can't hold the form of that weapon any longer." Liam walked up to me. "I feel kinda exhausted." I said heavy eyed. "Sit down. You don't want to fall." I sit down. The whip disappeared completely. "That takes *yaahn* a lot out of you." I said. "Yea, it does that the first time." He helped me up and led me to the couch in the main area. I fell asleep on the couch. In the morning I opened my eyes. I looked around and Liam was sitting next to me asleep. I looked around. Then looked immediately back at him. He was really close to me. I looked down at my lap. He was holding my hand. We literally just met... Why am I blushing? He is barely a friend. I'm probably so red right now. I stood up and walked to the kitchen. I opened the fridge. The cold air hits my face slowly as I reach into the fridge and pull out the dill pickle jar. I tried to unscrew it but I was too drained to open it. I was stubborn so I tried again, and again, and again. "Uuug I hate jars..." "hey, you okay?" I turn around and see Gailen. "Yea I'm fine... just... having trouble opening this." "Here let me help." I step away from the jar. He puts his hand above the lid and it twists open. "How did you do that!" "Well, my element is air. I used a small string breeze to twist it off." "Wow! That's cool." I took the kid off and took a pickle out of it and put it in a paper towel so it wouldn't get on my hands. I walked back to the couch and ate the pickle. After I finished it I walked back over to Gailen. "Hey Gailen. Can you help me with control of my powers?" "Sure!" We both walked to the training room. I opened the door and walked in. I saw J.J. Holding her key. She put the key in her right hand and held it out. Two curved edges appeared from above and below her hand. Them she grabbed a thin line in between the curved shape and plucked the string turning the glowing item into a bow. She made a arrow and pulled back the arrow on the string of the bow. She released the arrow and lands the arrow straight in the middle of the target on the other side of the room. She looked over at me and back at the target. "Okay let's start with target practice." We walk over to J.J. "Hey, J can you help her with target practice?" Gailen said standing behind me. J.J. looks back at me. "Fine..." "Great! I'll leave you to it then." Gailen said walking away. She yanked my hands into a position where my the edges of my hands are together and there is air in the middle of my hand. "Get into form with your legs. Then try to eject lighting out of the hole at the end of your hand at that target." She said nothing else. I moved my feet where they are supposed to be. "Shouldn't I be a bit closer?" She didn't say anything. *rude...* I just focused a straight line hitting the target. My hands filled with lighting. I let a strike leave my hands. It went only across half of the room. I looked at her expecting advice. She was still silent. I tried again. *longer... faster...in the middle...* I thought. I let one string of lighting out of my hands and it struck the side of the target. I smiled and looked back at J.J. She was nodding slightly. "Try and adjust to how the lighting angles and turns. Lighting is not a straight line." She said. Pulling out another arrow. She pulled the arrow on her bow. Lighting covered the arrow. She let go of the arrow. It moved in zigzag patterns. It still hit the dead middle. "Woa!" I said in amazement. "Don't try to make the lighting do you want it to do. You have to let the lighting connect with you so then it will obey you." "How does lighting connect with me?" "Each element has a spirit. The spirit picks someone worthy of their power. The user has to gain the spirits trust by meditating or using its power." "Oh! So the lighting spirit chose me?" "Yea." "So now I have to gain its trust." "Yup. Now continue trying to hit the target." She walks out of the room leaving me alone. I get back in position. *uh.. hey spirit... can you tell me your name?.. the spirit probably can't hear me.* I tried to imagine the lighting zigzagging into the center. I filled my hands with lighting, feeling everywhere the lighting made contact with my hands. I let a stream of lighting out of my hands. It hit the outside of the middle circle. "Yes!" I said. After about an hour I was tired. I took a deep breath and tried once more. I got in position and thought of the stream of lighting hitting the middle. Boom! The lighting hit the dead center of the target. "Hah! Yes! Take that target!" I sit down. Kori walked in the room. "Hey Nadia. Did you just finish?" "Yea, I did" "oh that's great you need to take a shower though." I got up and went to take a shower. After the shower I dried my hair and sat on the couch. I have thick hair so when I brush my hair it gets poofy and staticky. Kori walked in the room. "Hey Nadia. Come here." She said. "Sure." I walked over to Kori. She opens a door to a small room. Wood walls carpet floors. "Sit across from me." She said sitting down. I sat down in front of her. "Now you will attempt to connect with your spirit." "Okay." She crisscrosses her legs. I copy what she does. "Close your eyes and empty your head." I nod and close my eyes. I emptied my head. No distractions. Nothing... all I could see was black. I suddenly was standing up. Was I in my head? I look around and I see a blue glow getting closer. It soon formed a person. It was a guy. He stood I. Front of me. He had crazy blue hair with big white tips. His eyes were a dark cyan. He was wearing a blue shirt. He had his sleeves detached from his shirt, the top of the sleeve was tied onto his arms so they would stay up. He was wearing long black and white lighting socks. With big gray shoes that go up half of his legs. His shorts were really short with a belt. On the belt was a chain attached to the front and the back of his short jeans. He was really tall. He had two blue spikes on his skin below his eyes. There were two blue swords on his back and purple headphones around his neck. "Hey what's uuuup!" He said.
