Chapter 23

Lynn woke up to someone picking her up.

"It's okay Hun I'm just taking you inside." She saw Aden and smiled.

"Your phoenix is beautiful." She tells him before falling back asleep.

She is really weak Aden. We must keep her safe. He laid her in bed and pulled the covers over her. As he looked down at her. Aden realized how sick she was. She had sweat all over her.

How did was she able to fight like that in her weakened state? He asked Talion.

She was protecting someone she loves and was not about to let you come to harm. Now that you have me. It is our turn to protect her.

Nyx and Selena came by the next day and Aden told them what had happened except the part about him having a phoenix as well.

"Can you keep an eye on her while I go hunt?" he asked his dad and aunt.

"Yeah, I won't let anyone hurt her. Luche is on his way as well." He headed into the jungle to find his prey. Having a phoenix came in handy.

Lynn woke up and groaned.

"Hey, sweetheart." She turned to see her dad sitting next to her.

"Daddy what are you doing here?" she was too tired to move.

"Nyx called me and told me what had happened. He said there was no way he was calling Aria. He didn't want to piss off a Goddess." Lynn laughed a little at this.

"Your mother is trying to find out how Odin got his power back. Go back to sleep Lynn we are all here to help you." She soon was back asleep.

Nyx walked in and sat down.

"You raised a brave daughter Luche." Luche smiled and looked at his friend.

"Too bad she had to fall in love with a damn Ulric. Nyx thanks for helping her. I know the wedding customs as well as you do." Nyx hands him a drink.

"Yeah, but I think with all that has happened some rules can be bent a little this time. Family is meant to help when you need it." Just then they heard Selena yell out.

"You two need to get out here now." they ran out to see Bahamut standing there.

Lynn's eyes snapped open and she jumped out of bed. She ran outside and saw her mother fighting with Bahamut. When the God saw her, and he warped right in front of her. Before she knew what was going on Aria was in front of her. Bahamut pulled his sword from her chest and laughed. Lynn let out a scream as she gave Ryza control. She only asked one thing and that was to make him suffer.

She shifted and the phoenix attacked. Luche ran to his wife and pulled her into his arms

"Aria what do I do?" he asked as he brushed her hair from her face. She had blood pooling around her when they all heard another phoenix land closer to them.

"Do not fear me young ones. Aria do you know who we are?" Aria nods. The phoenix leans his head down as his tears hit her wounds.

"You will not have your power no more it went to Lynn. Now if you will excuse me. I need to go help my mate." The phoenix bowed its head before it went to help fight.

Lynn and Ryza fought as one. She had torn the helmet off Bahamut and was clawing at him.

"Your mother will die, and it will be all your fault." He laughed. Bahamut saw her haste and he took advantage. Grabbing her by the neck he slammed her into the ground. They heard another screech as a black phoenix rammed into the God.
