Sarah's POV

"GET OVER HERE!"

"I'm coming!" Rebecca shouted back at me carrying the last box.

"OK. Attention everybody, just so you know... we missed a lot in our lives. We need a day. Just one day to take a break from a world like this. So I thought we would dress ourselves up like we are going to prom, and then I also found this very cool portable charger that I can charge phones and cd players with so we can play music. We can do this guys. We can have a chance at living again, just trust yourselves."

Everybody just stared at me like I was crazy, and maybe I was, but we did need a chance to start over, and take a moment to have fun with our lives. We needed to enjoy the time we have left because every moment we spend and every breath we breathe, are the moments that we need to celebrate. I guess that all of those years we have been held back, held back, with no fun no fun at all. I needed to have a night that I could have fun, and I'm sure others feel the same way.

"That's so true." Allison said breaking the silence, and I could even see some figures jump up to the sound of her voice echoing through the trees.

"I know." I say.

"Makeovers!" Julia squealed from behind Rebecca and I, making us turn and mouth an "oh no" to each other.

I walk over and pull the boxes out from the train cart and then smile at Rebecca.

"Round up the girls. We're having a party tonight." Rebecca giggled but then ran off to find everybody.

        Julia's POV

I smiled at the girls standing or of course leaning in the train cart.

"Let's get started, every girl has to wear a dress-"

"What!" Allison grunted, as I pulled out the boxes filled with supplies.

I threw the box down and smiled.

"Explore the dusty beauty." I smirked, everybody stared at me with either an excited look on their face or a worried look on their face. I'd be half and half. I took all the make up out which was old and some dried up and useless. I trhow it behind me and search through the loose items randomly. Perfume, but everything was old. Then jewelry, and shoes. Amazing, because this is the best we're gonna get in a zombie apocolypse. I wish I could thank that family for... everything. I feel bad for their kids. Maybe the parents are still alive? They would never leave their kids behind like that, especially if it was in a world like this where you can starve. I remember not having to worry about starvation, and sometimes I was so full that I could barely eat anymore, or any dessert. Sometimes it's like I wish everything would just go away and I could just shrivel up with no memory and fade into space.

I can't think like that, especially not today. I throw whatever I had in my hand after my zone out back into the box and then sigh.

"This dress is pretty." I hear a voice, I could barely make them out but I turned around and looked to listen.

"No, that is MY dress." Sarah said snapping at poor Kelsey who wanted the blue dress just as much as she did. I laughed a little knowing that even though they were fighting me before, now they actually want to dress up.

Every girl was looking at the dresses, even tomboy Ally.

"I like this one." Allison said in a surprising whisper. I looked to see. It was a short black dress with a small gold buckle, but instead of being a normal everyday wear, it had a long trail of black fabric hanging behind it. It had one strap, but it wasn't showy at all.
