Ta'Mya's POV
I was just in my room drawing in my notebook & watching TV, until I got a text on my phone from my best friend Jesse.

He had asked me if I had wanted to go the arcade with him, like a mini date. I texted him yes & he told me that he would meet up with me in an hour. I then got dressed to get ready.

I put on a black & white striped t shirt & some light blue jeans with my white converse. I put my hair in a chongo & a little bit of natural makeup.

Jesse then texted me that he was outside. I grabbed my phone, headed out my bedroom door, & headed out the front door of my apartment.

Jesse was standing at the bottom of the stairs, waiting for me. "Wow Ta'Mya, I love your outfit.", he said smiling.

"Thanks Jesse.", I said with a smile.

"No problem. Also are you ready to go?", he asked me.

"Yeah of course. Let's get going.", I nodded. Me & Jesse then started walking a few blocks to the arcade.

...

After walking a few blocks, we finally made it to the arcade. We walked inside & looked around everywhere in amazement.

All we saw was alot of arcade games to play, the salad bar, the prize counter, & so many more.

"Wow, this place looks so amazing!", I said walking with my mouth open in amazement.

"Not as amazing as you. Come on, let's get some tokens.", Jesse said with a smile & walking towards the counter.

We walked over to the counter & paid to have about 40 coins to play the arcade games.

The first game we went to play is Pacman, which was one of my favorite games.

Jesse was player 1 & I was player 2. We were running away from the ghosts until I got stuck in a corner.

"Oh my god, Jesse help me! They're coming!", I said laughing.

"I'm comin, I'm comin!", he said going right behind the ghosts.

Apparently the ghosts had already got me & I died. They then got Jesse after me "Oh my god, really Jesse!", I said laughing.

"Sorry Ta'Mya!", he said laughing also.

"Let's play a different game. How about we play Skee Ball? .", I said getting up from the stool.

"Yeah, sure. But be prepared to be beaten by the pro.", Jesse said with a smirk.

"Oh you're on Jesse!", I said running towards one of the Skee Ball machines with him behind me.

As we were playing Skee Ball, Jesse kept scoring while I kept on missing sometimes. Jesse of course got more points than me.

"Looks like I win again!", Jesse said jumping up & down.

I rolled my eyes & chuckled. "Oh whatever Jester.", I said with my arms crossed.

"Aww, is someone mad?", Jesse said in a baby voice & getting in my face.

"No, why would I be?", I said rolling my eyes.

"No, I know you're mad. How about we try again and I'll let you win?", Jesse said laughing.

"Yayyyy. Okay.", I said giggling.

After we played for another try at it, I had gotten the most points & gotten tickets.

"Yay! In your face!", I said laughing & pointing at him.

"Yeah, you got lucky. How about we go cash in the tickets and see what prizes we get?", he suggested.

My face lit up in excitement. "Let's go!", I said grabbing his hand, almost making him fall.

We went to the prize counter & the lady counted our tickets. We ended up having about 170, which was enough to get a little stuffed animal.

"What prize would you kids like?", the lady asked with a smile.

"Can I have that little stuffed teddy bear for this girl right here?", Jesse asked looking at me with a smile.

"Yes you can little man.", the lady said grabbing the bear & giving it to him.

"Here you go Ta'Mya.", he said giving it to me.

"Aww Jesse. You're so sweet. Thank you.", I said looking into his eyes with a smile.

Jesse looked down & blushed. "You're welcome. How about we go eat now before we head home?"

"Yeah sure. I'm starving anyways.", I said laughing.

We went to go find a table by the games & then went to the food bar to get ourselves some pizza. I had gotten 2 slices of Pepperoni while Jesse had gotten 3.

We got our drinks also & took our seats. As I was eating, Jesse was looking at me.

"Hey Ta'Mya, you have a little something on your chin.", he pointed out.

"Huh?", I asked in confusion. He then got close to me & wiped some pizza sauce off with his finger.

"Don't worry, I washed my hands.", he said laughing & cleaning the sauce off.

"Okay, good thing you did.", I laughed.

After a while of eating & talking, it was time to head home. Jesse had his arm wrapped around my shoulder the whole time we were walking.

After walking for a few minutes, we had finally arrived at my apartment.

"Well, we're here at my place.", I said with a laugh.

"Yeah. I honestly had a great time with you Ta'Mya. To be honest, this was my first date ever.", Jesse said.

"I had a great time too Jesse. And really?", I said.

"Yeah. But, I also wanted to ask you something.", Jesse said nervously.

"What is it?", I asked in concern.

"Well, you know that we've been best friends for a while now. But the truth is...I like you Ta'Mya, ever since our District five days. I just never had the chance to tell you, because I was nervous. But since I just told you now, will you be my girlfriend?", Jesse asked me, looking into my eyes.

"Oh my god Jesse. I had no idea. Yes of course I'll be your girlfriend!", I said giving him a hug.

He laughed & hugged me back. He then pulled me away & looked into my eyes. Out of the blue, he placed a kiss on my lips.

He then stopped the kiss & held my hand. "I'm glad you said yes.", he said with a smile & blushing.

After talking for a while, I said bye to Jesse & went inside my apartment. Honestly, I can't believe that I ended up being with my best friend, but I'm glad I did.
