Being the new kid at school could sometimes be a good thing. One pro on the pros and cons list, is starting over. A fresh start is sometimes needed to fully find out who you are and to decide how you want to portray yourself to the world.

Starting over is a chance to better yourself from the old you. Meaning, if you weren't as nice before, now's the chance to be respectful to others. Starting over is a chance given to someone to decide who they want to be, introvert or extrovert, maybe someone in between.

It's a chance to make new friends, a new chance to decide who to surround yourself with and if you should let supportive people in your life or people who could care less about your well being.

For Marina Amara, it's exactly that. After her father's sudden death, she and her mother have decided to start anew and leave their hometown in Sacramento and move to Beacon Hills for a fresh start. At her old school, Marina was always being overlooked for being extremely quiet and being alone most of the time.

With moving away from her school, Marina promised herself to let go and be herself, and to not care about what others think of her. This move would finally give her a chance to break out of her shell and be someone she's always wanted to be.

Beacon Hills was different. It's different from her old school. Sure they both had those rich kids who think everything revolves around them, but the rich kids in Beacon Hills weren't as rude as the ones in her old school. And she liked that.

Although she liked that, she loved how she wasn't invisible to most boys at Beacon Hills High like she used to be in Sacramento. And that might just help her bring her confidence up just a bit.
