The second day at Beacon Hills High School wasn't as bad as Marina had thought it would be. She had gotten to school early to meet Principal Thomas, and found the first half of her classes she had missed the day before.
Leaving the classroom as the bell rings for break, Marina heads to her locker to drop off the textbooks she would no longer need for the day. She pulls out the paper with her locker combination.
Marina grunts as she pulls open the stuck locker door. She sighs and hangs her backpack on the hook and places the textbooks inside the locker while also taking out the folders, papers and textbooks she would need for the remainder of the day.
Closing her locker door, she stumbles back as she's met by the cute redhead from yesterday. She stands next to a beautiful brunette girl.
"Cute dress, where's it from?" The redhead flashes her a smile.
Marina looks down at her black plaid dress that ends mid thigh. She looks up at the two girls, "I got it at Macy's."
"Oh!" The redhead exclaims, smiling at the brunette, "Speaking of Macy's - "
"Uh, we weren't." Marina interrupts her. The redhead drops her smile and tilts her head to look at Marina, "I was just answering your question."
The redhead raises an eyebrow and bites her lip, smiling, "You mentioned it. Therefore, we are talking about it." She sassily replies.
"Okay."
"Lydia." The girl beside her scolds her in a hushed tone. The redhead, Lydia, smiles at Marina. She clears her throat, "We want you to come along with us to buy dresses."
"Dresses? For what?" Marina asks and looks at both of them.
"The Winter Formal is this Friday and we want you to come along." The brunette speaks.
"It'll be fun!" Lydia adds, grabbing onto Marina's shoulders.
Marina sheepishly looks at the two girls, their smiles plastered onto their faces. She wasn't opposed to the idea of going shopping with these girls, they genuinely look like nice people to be around. Marina wasn't sure about the Winter Formal thing, but she knew it wouldn't hurt to make friends.
"When should I meet you?" She asks them with a smile.
Lydia loudly squeals, calling the attention of the students around them. She grabs the slip from Marina's hand and grabs a pencil from her backpack, quickly scribbling something down.
"Meet us in the parking lot after school. If you can't find us, here's my number." Lydia hands her back the paper. Marina flips the paper around to reveal her phone number.
"Thanks, Lydia." Marina says as she walks away. The brunette beside her mutters a quiet 'see you later' and she too walks away, following after Lydia.
Marina makes sure to put the slip somewhere inside her backpack where she will be able to find it at the end of the day. Happy she might already be making friends, she heads to her next class.

Marina stands alone in the parking lot beside her car. She's been waiting for Lydia for maybe ten minutes by now. She takes a look around the parking lot, in search of the redhead and brunette. But she can't find them. She plays with her phone, acting as if she's texting somebody to avoid feeling awkward as people pass by her and look at her. Feeling like people are making fun of her for looking lost, she begins to question the encounter with the two girls;
"Was Lydia inviting me as a joke to embarrass the new girl?" She thinks to herself.
She sighs in relief as a blue car pulls up behind her car. She sees Lydia in the passenger seat. The driver's side window rolls down as the two girls inside motion for Marina to get closer.
